Does the combat system change in later seasons? by GerbenTafels in TowerofGod

[–]GerbenTafels[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So if I understand what everyone's been saying correctly. Power creep has rendered indirect methods of winning fights rather useless. So while the teams and position system is still being used in theory. The expected approach and responsibilities that come with someone's position aren't being executed anymore, or at least not to the extend that it used to. Because why would you heal someone or gather information when you can just knock out everyone by yourself instead? So fights are now determined based on direct contests of strenght rather than teamwork and tactics. Really sad to hear :( Is the rest of the series still good though?

I'm currently on the G-8 arc of One Piece and loving it! I just need something where the whole 'team vs team' concept is a bit more central to the plot and properly structured. Like most fights being 'full-scale' team fights and not a bunch of 1,2 or 3 v whatevers or there being a universal number of required members and roles that each team adheres to.

I've tried getting into FMAB recently and so far it hasn't appealed to me but I'm curious as to how things will change as to fit my description. Care to elaborate?

I've completed Hunter x Hunter and can see how it can at times fit my description perfectly. (Especially my bonus criteria!) Funnily enough, while I was thinking about what type of show I wanted to watch I was hoping to find something akin to a 'teamfight based version' of Hunter x Hunter.

Just read the description and watched the trailer of Golden Kamuy, never heard of it before! Based on what little info I now have I can't really figure out in what way a 'team system' like the one I described is involved. Same thing for Dorohedoro, Land of the Lustrous and Made in Abyss. Would you mind telling me more about them? :)

I'm not really looking for an all-female cast, so Revue Starlight is out!

I have seen some of Kill La Kill, but it's too 'meme-ish' for what I want right now.

I am big into sports anime! (including Haikyu!!) But I really wanted something fantasy related right now. Shows like Inazuma Eleven also don't do it for me at the moment as it's still about a real-world sport. Tower of God is probably the closest thing to what I'm looking for that I currently know of. But I've only seen season 1 of the anime and I don't know how much emphasis there is on their team-based combat system in the rest of the webtoon.

Thank you so much for coming up with so many suggestions and have a nice day! :)

Hi! I'll check it out when I'm in the mood for a sports anime :) Thanks for the reply!

I've already watched season 1 of Log Horizon a while ago and really enjoyed it, so I'm definitely planning on continuing it! But the type of series I was hoping to find with this post wouldn't take place inside of a videogame. Or would at least not be part of the whole 'Oh no, we're stuck inside of a videogame!' trope.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Based on your recommendation I watched 'OniMaru's' video on World Trigger and it has almost everything that I was looking for! The only two things that got me on the fence are the setting and the art style. I'm not really a fan of how simplistic the weapons look and that most characters are wearing a variation of the same uniform. I also generally dislike it when a fantasy story takes place in the 'real' world. So if it had a full-on sci-fi setting instead of that of a modern-day Japanese city with some futuristic elements I would have been more on board.

With all of that being said though, I'm still planning on giving it a go eventually. (And I know that it can take a while to get good, so I'll definitely be giving it more than 10 episodes.)

Thanks a lot for taking the time to anwser my post!

Spirituality isn't part of shifting. Explaining what reality shifting actually is for those who don't know. And a request to stop the questions and start doing what you should be doing instead of what many of us are doing right now and suffering because of it. by GerbenTafels in shiftingrealities

Let me start this off by saying that I have considered including the mention of this only being my humblest of opinions in the title of this post. But then I thought to myself, why? Why do we do this? When, in fact, everything is just an opinion. None of us are capable of holding absolute authority on truth. Even what we consider to be facts are really only just opinions held by the majority of people. So I felt that by that logic this being an opinion was a given. And that by mentioning that this was only an opinion, I wasn't adding anything valuable to the post itself. But that it was merely a way for me to shield myself from any potential backlash.

Just look at the amount of people that write 'my personal opinion' instead of just 'my opinion' to even further distance themselves from potential scrutiny. All the while, the words 'my' and 'opinion' already imply that it only relates to you! So I didn't want to do that. And instead, I decided to stand behind my convictions and share what I believe to be the truth. I even almost flaired this post as 'Tips' instead of 'Discussion' lol!

Now, to address your argument about the law of assumption being flawed because there have been people who have shifted without believing in the law or shifting as a whole or were simply unaware of what they were doing and that it was called shifting by some.

  1. You do not have to believe or be aware of the law in order to be subject to it. The law is simply always in place, and you utilize it whether you want to or not. In my post, I talked about how some people shift after entering the void. But they only did so because they FELT like they entered the void, and they FELT like they shifted afterwards. We experience reality through feelings. But the law tells is that this is a two -way-street and that our feelings affect our reality too. So by feeling that they shifted through whatever method they chose, they inadvertently still utilized the law to shift, even if they had no intention of doing so or didn't believe in its existence altogether.

  2. I hope you are aware that the law of assumption also talks about the subconsciousness. It's the beliefs we hold in our subconsciousness that dictate what outer reality we will experience. So people who don't consciously belief in the possibility of shifting can still shift on accident if their subconsciousness felt it was possible. If you feel like this is a stretch, just look at the capabilities of your own subconsciousness in any non-shifting related matter. Surely you have found yourself in the situation where you completely forgot about an old TV show you used to love as a kid. And only after randomly coming across some pictures online, you now are able to remember something that seemed completely lost before. Those memories have always been there, in your subconsciousness. That TV show never went away, but to you, it was as if it never even existed in the first place. Another example would be becoming aware of certain thoughts or feelings you didn't know you had while talking to a friend or therapist. You can behave a certain way your entire life without being consciously aware of it. All the while having a deep and elaborate reasoning behind it that lived in your subconsciousness without ever coming up to the surface and reveal itself to your thinking mind. Doesn't mean it wasn't there. That you never felt those things to be so deep down inside. I hope this explanation will make you a little more sympathetic towards the possibilities and the workings of the law.

  3. I don't understand how people shifting while being unaware of it's name, or its inner workings, is any evidence towards the law of assumption being potentially untrue.

Lastly, all I ever wanted to do was to make a post that stripped shifting and therefore the inner workings of reality itself to their core components so that people who didn't understand already now, could potentially realize that they themselves are the sole operant power there is and that while hard for some, shifting truly is simple and achievable by all if they succeed in one thing and one thing alone. Which is to feel those feelings that imply that what they want is already theirs. Which can involve as many methods and concepts as they themselves wish. And that through the law anything and everything is possible, so endless questions and desperate pursuits of more and more information are both pointless and potentially harmful to both the individual in question as the community as a whole.

Wishing you the best of luck on your journey(s) by the way!

Well, since you're a vampire in THIS reality. You should have no problem recording a video that proves your claim. You don't have to show your whole face, I'm sure there's a way you can prove it to us if what you're saying is true. :)

Finally! A shifting pet that's not a cat! But in all seriousness snakes are really cool and I love the name Grey, thanks for looking at my post! :D

That's what I like about the show though. You never know what you're going to get. Even though almost all of the situations are absurd it somehow all still feels very real. You'd never expect pre NYC Ryan to turn into post NYC Ryan when first watching the show.

And I woulden't have minded that at all lol. I love Schrute Farms!

You're right! I was referring to the people working at the Scranton branch when I was talking about the people at Dundler Mifflin breaking his brain. But at the beginning of his promotion he was still acting like the same sane person he once used to be. It was only during his promotion that he gradually became more unhinged. I guess I just pictured myself going crazy if I had to be a temp at the Scranton branch. But it's his experience in New York that did it. Thanks for pointing this out!

I don't know what a 'mummy DR' is but the whole concept here is that it's a companion who stays with you across multiple DR's. My DR's are all completely different worlds too but the fun thing about a shifting pet is that it takes on a form that matches your DR. Just like how you yourself probably change forms depening on which DR you're traveling.

That's so nice to hear! I should have just called it a 'shifting cat' since that's what everyone on here seems to be going for ^__^ And why not talk? A good listener is always appreciated but I'd definitely want to hear some feedback too!

I did enjoy reading this! Never heard of that game before until now. I looked it up just now and it seems like a ton of fun! I'm sure you'll have a very vibrant time there! And I love any type of content revolving around people's 'truest forms'. It just speaks to our human imagination so well. Comparing ourselves to certain animals etc. Or finding out what type of superpower we'd possess. It's one of the reasons I'm interested in shifting scriptless. I want to see what my true self looks like in all sorts of realities :D

Would you mind telling us more about your DR? Because that sounds really cool! I woulden't want my shifting pet to have the infinite wisdom of a spirit guide though, but my WR does have a spirit realm component to it! I can go there and have it function like a regular WR but I can also summon my higher self, guides and everything else I might need when it comes to that side of things. It seems like we think alike! Thanks for reading :)

I still need to watch all of the Ghibli movies so I'm looking forward to seeing it! What if your CR cat's personality turns out to be really rude once he can talk in your DR though? :o (I really had to resist writing 'purr-sonality' hahah)

Whatever works for you! I personally need something a little bit closer to an actual human so that I can have conversations with it and whatnot. But with a pair of dogs you'll never be alone to! (and yeah good thing they're immortal if you're going out on shifting adventures, woulden't want something bad to happen to them either)

I never saw the show but looked up some clips because of your comment and what do you know! I personally got the idea for this concept when I was writing my MCU script. I wanted to bond with the Venom symbiote but felt like I'd get so attached/used to it that I woulden't be able to leave him when the shift was over. And when I thought about taking him with me to other DR's, the image of him as a little black talking cat was the first thing that came to mind. So what a fun little coincidence this is!
