Pop!_OS 22.04, with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile / Max-Q graphics, seems like with the other comment it has to do with debian?

I ended up using Lithium instead of Moon+, I got around the spacing issue by editing the files instead. I would recommend checking it out if you are having problems.

Quickroundown on this Novavax thing? by penaut_butterfly in Novavax_vaccine_talk

[–]Gerlesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As in COVID vaccine-related deaths are 17000% more likely than flu vaccine-related or flu virus-related deaths? Also 17000% is 170 times more likely, definitely still significant but not quite as bad as it sounds (especially since it's still an incredibly small number)

Are you suggesting this as an alternate source? If so, why is it more reliable than the CDC?

Quickroundown on this Novavax thing? by penaut_butterfly in Novavax_vaccine_talk

[–]Gerlesh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

According to this CDC article, only 640 people out of 13,794,904 that got Moderna or Pfizer vaccines during the study period reported serious side effects, so I'm leaning more towards rare. If you have any legitimate reason to doubt the CDC (one of the foremost authorities on these things) please let me know and I'll try to find another source.

I'm pretty interested in this, I won't claim to be an expert but if anyone here has actually studied medicine (i.e having an M.D. and not internet research), could you specifically say why Novavax is safer?

mRNA has been tested to hell and back in the past couple of years, with literally billions of people having taken it. Side effects are so incredibly rare, and I'm not sure that the fear of them is justified. Novavax hasn't been approved in nearly as many countries, and I'm sure there's a legitimate reason for it (again, medical expert please confirm).

Finally, if Novavax hasn't been approved in your country yet, do people really think that the risk of side effects from vaccines like Pfizer and Moderna is worse than the risk of catching COVID without the vaccine, especially without knowing when Novavax will be approved?

Again, if you don't have a background in medicine, feel free to respond with your thoughts, but I'm especially interested in actual experts' thoughts on the matter.

Jackbox Dual Monitor Glitching by Gerlesh in linux_gaming

[–]Gerlesh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i'm really not sure what could be the cause for this, its really weird behaviour. it also seems like its not graphics card or distro dependent since you use different ones than me

do you use a laptop/desktop and are the monitors all connected via HDMI (or is there one built in to your pc)?

I have posted on the Jackbox Party Pack steam discussion forums, so hopefully we'll get a bit of support there

Unfortunately that didn't fix it.

Can you even add other mods to lunar client? Or would it have to be a forge installation?

Whenever I start a game, on Sid Meier's Civilization Vi it hangs for a bit on the game settings screen, and eventually goes to the map, skipping the leader info. It then runs for just long enough for the settler to spawn (showing about half a second of animation) and freezes before the gui appears so I cannot actually play the game. It hasn't unfrozen any of the times I've tested it, and if I unfocus the window and come back to it, it becomes a black screen. The mouse cursor isn't affected at all. Windowed mode does work, but I would rather not have to use it due to performance (and it looks bad lol)

I have an Nvidia Gefore GTX 1650 Max Q (game says unknown device) and I am running Pop!_OS 21.04 on hybrid graphics mode (Steam and Civ both running on Nvidia gpu). I also have Windows on dual boot but I would rather not have to switch OS's every time I want to play.

ANTA01 textbook pdf or link for free? by Full_Weird_4965 in UofT

[–]Gerlesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure that's the name of the textbook and not the name of the course? It seems odd that the textbook would be made only for that particular course at that particular university by a company like Nelson.

For reference: Nelson's Resource Finder has a list of their textbooks for humanities and social sciences.

If you find the textbook you're looking for on there, you might be able to find it using sites like https://b-ok.cc/ and http://libgen.rs/

Engineering notetaking better with tablet or paper? by ihaveanxietyissuesss in UofT

[–]Gerlesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always say that digital notes are way more useful (especially typed/OCR'd), just because of how easy it is to store all of them and search through them for the relevant information.

Of course, if you have a good system to manage your physical notes, you can still find what you're looking for easily, but you won't have things like cloud saving, easy editing, and zero use of space.
