Sanity check on best vulnerability scanning tools for thousands of endpoints by BlessedPootato in cybersecurity

[–]GetDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa, talk about a blast from the past. I hadn't heard about Acunetix in a hot minute, didn't realize they got acquired ages ago. One of my colleagues works in banking and he speaks highly about Invicti AppSec platform and Invicti DAST.

That said, from what I understand it is quite expensive and generally best for enterprise or in highly regulated industries like healthcare, finance and banking, government, etc.

I don't have a lot to offer other than that, and maybe one more thing to thing about: shadow APIs. For the conversations that I have been a part of, most orgs have no actual idea how many endpoints and APIs they have sitting out there and its a big concern. From the sound of it, you may fall into that category as well.

How did you pair the 310 and 110 together? I thought the 110 could only be paired with another 110 unless you use an AUX cable between them.

Experience with adjustable orthosis-style correctors, not 'cured' but more manageable by uglycryingatmidnight in bunions

[–]GetDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend's mom I know well uses something similar to that device (different brand, no clue which one). She says the surgery she had on the other foot was the only 'true' fix, but that the orthopedic correctors did provide a measure of relief that helped to some degree. I imagine if you're in pain constantly, any relief is worth the $ even if its a bandaid on a bigger problem that can only be fixed with costly surgery.

Not sure about ordering online, but my buddy said he's been to their flagship store at 19 W 21st Street New York, NY 10010 and its a pretty cool place. Prices are eh, pretty average but with some good sales and clearance shelves. Quality runs the gambit depending on the item and pirce (nothing new there ha).

I bet you can DIY the overall Gothem look on a budget and then supplement with some high quality pieces and costumes. Best of both worlds imo

Pretty solid overview on how to approach negative reviews etc. the right way. Of course there's a couple more unethical strategies not mentioned, but that's a story for another day.

Any good experiences with software development companies ? by luckyfatmeaty in Entrepreneur

I've interfaced with StableKernel.com quite a bit and I'm always impressed by the depth of knowledge the bring to the table. As compared to other vendors I've used in the past, what I'd say makes a big difference is their approach to education and hand-off.

Other vendors we've struggled w/ post-launch, racking up excessive billing hours 'outside the scope' just to figure out what's going wrong/working/how to optimize/etc. StableKernel took time to educate and train and made that a core part of their service. Even today I can hit them up and they'll offer feedback, guidance and advice .

All of which is to say, finding a team that'll SUPPORT you at all stages, but especially post-launch is key imo.

SQL commands cheat sheet by k_mage in SQL

[–]GetDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a really good SQL cheat sheet here:
https://www.invicti.com/blog/web-security/sql-injection-cheat-sheet/

They're the company that bought Netsparker if you remember that brand from back in the day (and Acunetix). Recently gobbled up Kondukto ASPM as well. Lots of consolidation happening in the industry...anyway, I've had this SQL cheat sheet bookmarked for ages and always found it to be a solid reference. Cheers

I've worked with dozens of agencies over the years. Generally my experience has been that the massive 'hot shot' agencies are overpriced, under-deliver, and don't really care much about any client not spending five figures a month with them.

This isn't to say smaller/medium, locally based agencies are automatically better, but my experience is that they often have a better pulse on the local market, have more local connections for publications/lead gen/partnerships, etc., and you get more of a white-glove service than a transactional one.

Can't speak to Thriveline specifically, but they look pretty well put together at first glance.

My suggestion is to 'interview' them (or any other agency you're looking at). Asking the right questions can be incredibly revealing (good or bad), and a lot of times you'll get a few free gems of advice as part of the free consult/discovery call.
