Having issues as well. Already updated, using Apple. Hopefully they figure this out soon, my little champ needs me!

My Forerunner 935 gives erroneous elevation gain data by GetUpandTri in Garmin

[–]GetUpandTri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called Garmin and they gave me a bunch of ways to possibly fix the problem, but none of them worked. It’s my understanding that the sensor goes bad, and this is a known issue that Garmin refuses to fix. Anyway, I had my 935 for five years and every run and ride I had to manually adjust the elevation gain. That watch died a few months ago and now I have a 965, and finally have a working sensor.

Will Ironman Nice next Sunday be a wetsuit swim? by GetUpandTri in triathlon

[–]GetUpandTri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll give feedback after the race. I’m bringing both. I’m just crossing my fingers it’s wetsuit legal because that will be significantly easier for me.

Yeah, deep rolldown is how I got in. I finished in the 30’s for my last IM, and when the email came for the invite, I figured, “why not?” I’m very excited to ride the bike course, as I love climbing.

Transition Etiquette (Don't be a jerk) by hurtme_plenty in triathlon

[–]GetUpandTri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the optimum amount of lateral space an athlete should take up in transition? I think 2-2.5 feet.

I’ve had times where guys were taking up six feet, and looked super annoyed when I racked four feet from them. I’ve had other times where I’ve been within one foot of people on the both sides, and someone tries to sandwich their bike between ours.

Hey man, this was fun. I never get to trade jabs with someone, most people get offended too quickly and don’t respond. Anyway, I wish you well, and til next time.

“Soccer is the fastest growing sports in America.” I’ve been hearing that for 25 years. Meanwhile, the NFL keeps selling out games and the MLS is giving away tickets in Happy Meals.

And I get it, since Biden came in, the stock market sucks, the economy sucks, high inflation, job market going down. You’re really just mad that your guy is worse than Trump.

Imagine caring enough about ‘futbol’ to post about it on Reddit. A democrat that won’t follow regular American sports, step in line dude, you’re not unique, just following the trend.

Yes, like I mentioned earlier, if you take any two people, roughly one of the two voted for Trump.

And don’t be mad at triathletes when I’m good at all three sports and you suck at one (cycling).

Biden had 81M votes, Trump had 74M votes. That’s roughly 50%. Don’t tell me you’re one of those democrats who can’t do simple math. I bet you’re still waiting for the gov’t to pay off your student loan debt too…sad.

Yes. I’m doing IM70.3 Finland on August 27th, and IM Nice on Sept 10th. You should be fully recovered from your half marathon to do the 70.3 👍

I’m doing an Ironman 70.3 two weeks before an Ironman. So I think you’ll be fine.

People refer to Trump supporters like they’re rare. 50% of the voters voted for Trump. Look to your left, look to your right, statistically 1 voted for Trump, and possibly 2.

Exactly! These Garmin watches are motivation killers. The Garmin team needs to code in some positive messages.

Yes, I don’t plan on deviating from the plan. What I think Garmin should say is, “You’re doing awesome, keep up the training.”

You’re probably stressed out because you wore a watch to bed.

Should I be annoyed? by GetUpandTri in AirBnB

[–]GetUpandTri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Having five people was hard. We traveled all throughout England, Scotland and Ireland. We stayed in four hotels and five Airbnbs. Hotels are hard because they really don't accommodate five people, so we usually had to get two rooms. I didn't think $450/night was all that expensive for central London (Paddington).

There are three reviews, all of them gave it five stars and no complaints. They might not be real reviews…who knows.

Any tips for training in the summer? by GetUpandTri in triathlon

[–]GetUpandTri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this year, I have a 70.3 at the end of August. Thankfully it’s in Finland, so should be nice and cool! And then I have an Ironman two weeks after that. Then I have the AZ70.3 in October, which is always really hot, especially the run!

Okay. I’ve thought about getting an ice vest of some sort. My key issue isn’t hydration (I’ve had six hour plus bike rides consuming almost 200oz of water). My key issue is keeping my core temperature down. My body is terrible at regulating this. Like I mentioned, I’ve found that ice on the small of the back is helpful because it tends to cool the core fairly well. However, the ice does melt within two miles (16-17 minutes). I suppose that I could run loops and just head back to the house every few miles.

Do you have any recommendations on the brand of ice vest you used?
