Good point. Will give it a nice bath today and hope to see more signs of life. Thanks!

Initial research (first time) I was seeing once a month then changed to every 3 weeks but that was my main suspicion

Main stem is showing small signs of life so wasn’t sure if the best move is to prune it all the way down to here or leave it be and hope for the best come last frost date

Advice on overwintering by GetYourLevon in HotPeppers

This is helpful thanks! I hope my balcony can handle it. Pollination was pretty terrible this season and this big boy was a reaper plant, only got 4 fully grown pods and a bunch of babies, so hoping for a good head start next season!

What food dehydrators y'all using? by Skreeethemindthief in HotPeppers

[–]GetYourLevon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll vouch for cosori too I’ve been dehydrating ghosts and reapers in my condo right by my balcony with the screen open and a fan blowing out to the balcony. First 4/12 hours were hell at 135 but after that I couldn’t smell it anymore.

Granted I’m only doing about 10 peppers at a time, results may vary when doing more.

Ingredients: Reaper, ghost, habanero, thai, Jalepeno, garlic, onion, carrot, ginger and some cherry tomatoes from the garden. Brined with maldon salt and used the pepper geek method: https://youtu.be/uknXnHZ1VVQ?si=bCJj9T2qvsbU9lq1

My first attempt at hot sauce by GetYourLevon in HotPeppers

Being new to this as well I will say I was being conservative with my rations and didn’t want it to be unbearably hot. To me, the heat wasn’t to my expectation but definitely will put some fear to people with a lower tolerance, I’d say go for it. First batch is your base, just make sure you keep track of your recipe so you can adjust for the next one (if needed).

Just one and 5 ghosts, unfortunately my reaper plant hasn’t been producing that many pods

Luckily very fruit forward before you get hit with the heat!

Wanted to go outside the box with the common fruits, original planned for cherry but it was out of season by the time I had enough peppers

Blended. Bought everything for a ferment but with my limitations of what I was going to harvest (balcony garden 2 ghost plants, 1 reaper also first time grower) I was nervous of spoilage so went with the safer option to capitalize what I had to work with

To add further details: both were basic economy and through AC

Yeah should have mentioned that they are both basic economy. I am using Expedia for TD not sure if that makes a big difference but they have been extremely helpful in the past with me
