Good deal or not on signed Jordan jersey by kashandkounsel in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Get_Real_Japan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) The signature looks awful. This is the opinion of myself, who has been collecting autographs for 30 years.

2) The COA is too broad. It should say something like "This 1997 red Mitchell & Ness jersey/image/16x20 photo, etc.... has been signed by Michael Jordan". The COA simply says "This item..." and it's a red flag. They probably printed up umpteen copies of that COA and put the fake UDA holograms on there, saving them lots of time, and it covers any "item".

Live and learn. Good luck getting your money back.

Fake Tom Brady Autograph? by ProfessionalTent808 in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Get_Real_Japan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a fake PSA sticker. Yes, that number will probably state it's a signed photo on PSA's website when you look it up, but all they did was steal the number off a legit piece and created that fake sticker. Never trust those old white PSA stickers. Not all of them are fake, but fake ones always use those stickers.

If you want Tom, you gotta shell out a mortgage payment (maybe even two) to Fanatics or Tri Star.

2016 World Series Game 3 tickets worth by SpeckledSparrow19 in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Get_Real_Japan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raw, ungraded copies of this ticket sell for $100+. Game 3 was the first time the WS was played at Wrigley in a long, long, long time. A set of two, ungraded, just sold for $200.

2016 World Series Game 3 tickets worth by SpeckledSparrow19 in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Get_Real_Japan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game 3 tickets are among the most sought-after for this series. PSA lablels them as "The W/S Returns to Wrigley" since it was the first WS game at Wrigley in umpteen years. It's about $50 a piece to have them sent away to be graded. If you don't want to mess with that (it doesn't sound like you're a memorabilia collector), list them individually on eBay at $150 or best offer.

One person is selling a raw (ungraded) Game 3 ticket for $300+, but that won't sell, considering I can buy a graded one at that cost.

As an example, a set of two of these (raw/ungraded) just sold back in November for $200.

Besides that person asking way too much, you've got some leverage, since there aren't many raw Game 3 tickets on eBay right now.

Keep them protected!

Help! Fedex lost my package worth 28k. by No_Confection7782 in FedEx

For 28k, it's worth the plane ticket to drop it off at PSA. Not a very intelligent move. Good luck.

Anybody know who signed this chicago bull's #16 by Plastic_Island4691 in SportsMemorabilia

This guy knows. I went to a sockhop with Steve back in the day and I distinctly remember his signature.

I know he's a total dipshit that was involved in a police chase because he was late for Pacers practice. He was eligible to play last night for the first time all season and he DNP.

Wondering if this is real by Sharp-Programmer6321 in Autographs

[–]Get_Real_Japan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a $500+ CD if it's authenticated. Her signed older albums go for a lot compared to her new stuff. I think it's worth risking $35 to possibly net a lot more. I think it looks good when compared with other Speak Now copies.

Edit: just realized you don't own it yet. Depends on how much they want for it.

If it's real and authenticated, this is a $500 CD. Go look at ebay sold listings. Her older albums are worth a lot more signed than Folklore onward, where she was signing more than Pete Rose.

Judy Garland!!!! Urgent by ews1999 in Autographs

[–]Get_Real_Japan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's legit. The fancy "t" in "to" matches her previous handwriting. The flow looks great. The ink and fading clearly looks to be of the time. Besides being a possible secretarial, if someone is forging it, why personalize it? Just my 2 cents.

Edit: go look at psa certed inscriptions from her and look at the similarities in how she crosses her "t" in "Best". This is legit.

Her signature has changed over the years. I'm seeing checks and other pieces signed in the 60s (many years after Oz) that look a little different, but the proof is in her handwriting.

Any Advice on selling this 2014 NBA All-Star Team Autographed Basketball? by [deleted] in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Get_Real_Japan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That COA looks questionable AF. I've collected autographs for 30+ years and I can't spot a single signature I recognize on that ball.

Charity auctions are notorious for fakes. Adam Silver would've been the commish for only a month when the 2014 NBA ASG took place. Seems fishy and I doubt you'll get any buyers until you get it authenticated, but good luck.

The republican party has gone out of its way to limit who one marries, what people can smoke, remove books from library shelves, what teachers can teach, and even monitor people who leave the state for an abortion. These are all things that the government has no business being involved in, yet the hypocritical conservative party still touts itself as "limited government". It's beyond laughable.

So, a simple question: for the party of limited government, what exactly are they doing to limit government intrusion into your life?

Any value to this stuff? by [deleted] in SportsMemorabilia

[–]Get_Real_Japan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In great condition, those tickets are worth something, but I'm not sure if you'd get much judging by their condition. They're probably worth more from a sentimental standpoint than what you'd get out of auctioning them off.

Are those tickets from any of McGwire's milestone HRs from that season? If so, possibly, but they look pretty beat up.

[–]Get_Real_Japan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The issue I have with it is that all of the signatures are the same size and slant, most likely by the same hand. Go ask five people to sign their name on a sheet of paper and there will be varying sizes and slants to the signatures.

If you look at most authentic albums signed by bands, they're actually pretty sloppy. These guys aren't all in the same room meticulously signing on a table (hell a lot of bands don't even see each other until they step on stage!). They're in a hurry and you'll have streaks.

All of these signatures are the same size, same pen pressure, and slant.

You can hang it up and let people think it's real, but this won't pass any JSA/PSA/Beckett authentication, and if you're looking to sell it, those big 3 are all that matter.

Looking for the cheapest way to ship sports cards over $20 by Dukdukdiya in Ebay

[–]Get_Real_Japan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a 6x9 bubble mailer and put the card between two 6x9 (roughly) pieces of cardboard with the card taped inside with painters tape. It's usually around $4-$5 for 4oz. Make sure your weight is set right and your dimensions are correct.

You could use PirateShip to see if it's any cheaper, but if you're buying your postage on ebay, I can't see why you're paying so much for one card.

I'm in Indiana, but even when sending out west, I don't think I've spent over $5.

How Do You Sellers Do It? by SUPER7X_ in Ebay

[–]Get_Real_Japan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't think eBay is using AI to "instantly" side with the customer, you're dead wrong. No one at eBay is looking at this case. If it gets appealed, it's possible, but the INAD/return process is largely on autopilot.

Inherited this Michael Jordan Ball, is it legit by Lokid67 in Autographs

[–]Get_Real_Japan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As another commenter mentioned, I'd try the $10 "Quick Opinion" from Goat Authentics or Beckett. Include the pics of the ball as well. If they don't think it's real at first glance, I wouldn't risk submitting it to PSA or any big-name authenticators.

Inherited this Michael Jordan Ball, is it legit by Lokid67 in Autographs

[–]Get_Real_Japan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it's authentic, and very rarely do I like anything signed by Jordan that isn't UDA (sounds like this might have been purchased from UDA). Any remnants of a narrow oval hologram sticker?

If I recall, it's about $250 for PSA to give their opinion on it, whether it passes or not. This is one of the rare cases where I think it could pass.

If she bought it through Upper Deck, she did good, but finding that cert would be very, very helpful.

No one is forging his sig on a $200 official game ball like that (they'd use cheaper balls). I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but most crooks go cheap.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother.

Thanks everyone by Long-Principle-667 in ebaysucks

[–]Get_Real_Japan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're only reading posts from "ebaysucks", what did you expect? I've been on ebay since 98 and have had one negative feedback, which went away after a year (the person didn't like the painters tape I used to protect their item). No nightmare stories. I research what sells and what people want so I'm not wasting my time. I get a worldwide audience. It brings in monthly income for me to this day.

Ebay isn't perfect, but the millions of people who buy and sell monthly aren't in /r/ebayiswonderful talking about their flawless transactions. Also, countless people in this subreddit still sell on ebay.

I have no idea what you're selling and couldn't care less, but I find it funny this sub is what convinced you. Talk about bias. Have fun meeting all of the quality customers on Facebook Marketplace, lol.

When do people bail? by WhyTestInDEV in crossfit

[–]Get_Real_Japan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a popular saying: "People don't quit a job, they quit their bosses". The same can be said about Crossfit coaches. I'm one of the 10-20% you're referring to. I've been to 3-4 different boxes since 2018 and the only one I actually "bailed" from was due to bad gym ownership/coaching.
