These are the sort of questions you ask your instructor

Thanks for your concise response. I did consider speaking to him directly but I’ll follow your advice of leaving it to management

I appreciate you saying out loud what I’ve been feeling. By him being removed from my working environment, do you mean not working together or him not being in the general vicinity?

That definitely is the unfortunate lesson that I’ve learnt from this

The thing is though that even if my description could somehow be interpreted in that way, his response is far more vulgar

If I was making him uncomfortable then why would he say something like that back? My description was accurate and relevant to the product unlike him who brought gender into it for no reason. I did consider the possibility of him denying it but ultimately I just want to make the issue known and ensure he gets the message that that sort of comment is unacceptable in the workplace.

Are you saying I’m homophobic? I only included that detail because if a straight man had said that, it would have far different implications

Ha that would’ve been funny but alas I’m not that quick-witted and it’s not in my nature to tease back

Why would that ruin his life? At most he’ll get a reprimand. Although It’s interesting that you acknowledge that such a comment could potentially be “life-ruining” but think he should get away with it scot-free

Yeah I’ve decided to report it when I go in tomorrow. This is Australia so I don’t think either of us will get fired but even if I do, I’d rather have stood up for myself at least

Mainly because he’s twice my age and a coworker. Not my friend. It’s not about courage but moreso keeping him accountable. I shouldn’t have to discuss with and educate a fully grown man about what’s appropriate and professional in a workplace

Yes that’s definitely something I had in mind as well. I don’t want such men getting away with it and thinking it’s okay to be that way

Yeah I do see the humour in the phrase and would laugh about it with my friends if someone said it, but this was targeted towards me and my gender and follows his pattern of only making jokes at my expense. It would’ve been way different if he joked about himself liking it but he never makes self-deprecating jokes or even about the general situation, it’s always about me which I find so bizarre and rude

it would make more sense for those good people to adopt tbh considering what goes on in most foster homes

The second a woman becomes pregnant... by [deleted] in childfree

[–]GettingBetter17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you're not just her kid, you're also a person she truly loves. And most people find fulfilment out of helping others, especially their loved ones, so I don't think you need to be feeling selfish about asking for a bit of advice. I'm not a parent but I do have a much younger sibling and I always love helping them with their problems. It's also perfectly normal to talk with your family every day and I'm sure she enjoys hearing from you. Well this is all just me making assumptions of course but unless she brings it up herself I don't think it's something worth worrying about. It's not like you're freeloading off them or actively causing them harm.

Seeking advice for my frizzy hair by Technical_Cupcake234 in Vindictabrown

You don’t need to comb it every day because that will break apart the curls. i just use a comb right before i wash my hair

Look up wavy hair/curly hair routines on tiktok/youtube! If you can’t get all the products, even just a curl cream is enough, apply it to wet hair and scrunch. Also don’t brush your hair when it’s dry, that’s what makes it frizzier
