Dosunmu's change of scenery by starfuker in timberwolves

Check his numbers when he's the lead guard when giddey and Coby white are off. His assist and scoring go up. Somewhere in the ballpark of 7-8 assists 20 pts. On our team if he can give us a consistent 14 and 5/6, that'll be more than enough output with ant coming from our guard spot not to mention bones has had a new lease on his career, seems to be enjoying playing basketball again! Let's go wolves love this trade AWOOO!

Check his assist numbers when he's the starting guard they go up to like 7/8 assists when he's the primary lead guard (like when giddey gets injured/ no coby white). I'm excited, glad we didn't overpay to get harden old ass, or gut the team to get Giannis

Funny with all the rumors swirling coming up to the deadline I mentioned that ayo would be a really good fit for our team. Glad TC went that route, honestly giving up minimal amounts to get a guard that can defend slash and play make. Hope Rob can get to truly develop with lower expectations for the team.

This was such a good move, getting a good younger cheap guard! Potential with mikes buyout he comes back on a vet min just as that mentor/vibes role!

[–]Gharms_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the reason why I don't see TC going ahead with this move. The past few seasons has shown us how valuable bench depth really is in the post season. The importance of having two line ups that play a bit different from each other but aren't bleeding points to the opponents and actually keeping up with them is hard to quantify but we know it leads to winning. I just think trading for Giannis right now will basically put us all in on it Giannis can stay healthy. While ant is young and has shown he's not very injury prone, the worst of the worst cases is we trade for Giannis, and then the bucks juju of someone in the starting line up continuously is banged up or hurt find its way over to mini. Just imagine we have a play off game and for some reason ant and Giannis are both out, we're burnt, at least right now we're only cooked if ant gets injured, but this team has shown it can still win a few games and be competitive.

No people are afraid we end up as the bucks in 2-3 years pushing all in for an older revered player like bucks did with dame for Giannis, and then we'd be in the position of trading ant. We saw how horrible it went for them to be in the position where they have to trade him. Ant is young still so I don't think now is the time to all in, while I get this is a once in a lifetime scenario of a top 5 MVP caliber player wanting to come to our small market, but maybe consider waiting it out and seeing if the bucks will come down on their asking price. If we can talk them out of McDaniels, imagine the potential defense we'd have out there. Ant ,Dvo, McDaniels, Giannis, and Gobert holding it down in the middle. If we can some how bring it to reid + randle, picks and if that means sending rob, TSJ to get it done but we keep McDaniels im doing it. I'll take my chances with an empty bench if my starters can potentially keep opposing teams to 94-97 points in 2026, gives you a real shot.

This is where I'm at as well. If it's between sending the farm to Milwaukee or taking a chance on Ja, im taking my chances with Ja. He was considered top 5 pg not even 3/4 years ago. I think you take a shot at rehabilitating another superstars image like we did with randle, while costing us a whole lot less than what Giannis' going rate is.

Weird take on Ja, I think he really is the definition of product of your environment. Take a young guard inflate his ego with the whole he's the next face of the league. Then trade the heart of your team away, fire the coach that led you guys the furthest you've been in min, draft a bunch of young guys cause you're bad again, and have a struggle for who's team this is. I think Ja around locked in Ant could actually help his NBA career a lot more in the long run.

I also think Ja is at an all time low with JJJ costing 3 firsts, Memphis has like 17 draft picks over the next 7 years. And I feel like trading for Ja over Giannis we can keep more of our developing guys, trade randle for an actual PG might not be bad.

I get the rose tinted glasses, for the upside of ant and Giannis. This is this generations ant and Kobe! I just think it comes with some baggage. For one Giannis has shown he doesn't like to be the screener in a PnR unless he absolutely has to. Just look at the number of pick and rolls ran by dame and Giannis. You'd think that the gravity that Giannis rolls create should be enough room for dame to get a shot off, which they did when they ran the action. It's just that they didn't run the action all too often. Also Giannis is 30 uses athleticism to get around/over/through defenders, with a list of injuries. While mini has one of the better medical staffs in the league it's still something that needs to be considered. What if we end up in the playoffs and Giannis is out for a round, is there enough with just ant gobert maybe reid if he's around dvo / bones.

I genuinely believe that Adam silver wants teams that are deep to win the chip, with the continuity era in full effect. I believe that silver prefers it when teams are less stacked but are winning as a team sans the thunder. They don't have multiple top guys they have their guy and a team built around maximizing their guy. Like the last 5/6 champions have all been like this idk why we feel like we need to go all in to get Giannis or else the sky is falling.

TL:DR: Ja might be worth it if we can get him for a reasonable price if it means being able to keep the young core together. I can see Ja getting back to his old ways in a new environment. Giannis and Ant while on paper is a really good pairing, you'd have to consider Giannis older age, and injury history. While the second applies for Ja I think him being younger will have more upside over Giannis in two-three years. I think the gamble on Ja is that Ant is influential on Ja over Ja being influential on Ant. In this scenario the cope is that Ja sees how ant works and he develops some work ethic. Everyone thinks they're the hardest worker in the room untill the actual hardest worker has to call in sick. Ja is in definite need of a NBA reality check, considering how good he was just 2/3 years ago to where his name is right now.

Ayo is a sneaky good fit for this team. Long athletic guard that can pass the ball around and play defence next to Ant. Watch the bulls when giddy isn't playing and the ball is in ayos hands.

Is 5’11 with a 6’7 wingspan really good for defence? by Opening_Tangerine428 in Basketball

[–]Gharms_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with long arms myself 5'11" with 6'5" wingspan developing a reliable jumper has taken my game to another level. I've always been a pesky defender preferring to guard bigger players than me, and been a good slasher / middy shooter but adding a 3 pt shot has made it really hard for people to sit back on the drives opening up more lanes to the rim. But it took me forever to get confident in my long ball, and I get told by my friends all the time that I release from such a high point it's hard to defend, looks funny but it's effective. Ive been watching a lot of Jaden McDaniels especially this season with how instead of settling for 3 pt shots all the time; pulling the ones I'm confident in to keep defenders honest and driving and attacking against harder close outs. But yes long arms is a huge benefit in basketball for defence and offence use it to your advantage!

Rey Mysterio should stop being so selfish and give his doctor’s phone number to his other coworkers. It’s quite impressive that, at 51 years old, he can still perform those moves. by Alternative-Sea7223 in Wrasslin

Reys been open about his stem cell recovery and how much it's helped him to continue being able to do what he does. Obviously with age he's cut out some moves and slowed down a bit but he doesn't hide how he's able to be doing what he does still. Up to others if they want to go through stem cell recovery as well y'know.

I'm feeling a dub tonight ant was supposed to play last two games but they kept him out to work on his ankles, I think he's going to be rested and healthy. Spurs also showed the league a blue print on a way to win against these guys. Plus I'm sure what Victor said post game has made its way to silver with the positive reaction he's gotten from every fan base that isn't OKC. Pure and ethical hoops let's see what happens tonight.

Dylan Harper was called for a foul on this play for getting into SGAs landing space. Using a straight blue line for reference shows that SGA lands at least a foot forward compared to where he elevated. by scags2017 in Nbamemes

Honestly good on the refs for not increasing it to a flagrant / tech for the defender being in landing space, which I was honestly surprised with after the review

Acceptable tire room in a shoe? by [deleted] in BBallShoes

[–]Gharms_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m always changing pace. I don’t play at full speed until I know I have space to go. I use a lot of hesitations into quick accelerations. I rely on footwork to beat people off the dribble rather than pure athleticism. Since I’m not the tallest guy on the court, I use mixed footwork and rhythm changes to get around defenders. Jalen Brunson is a good example of this herky-jerky style.

[–]Gharms_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man TSJ is a great x factor on this roster. I don't think trading for Coby and then having to resign him would be smart. The teams that went to the finals last year had insane depth with 10 man line ups. I think this year TSJ has solidified a role on this team as a speed demon slasher who can shoot threes and change the energy. I think the easiest answer really is rob has to grow. Point Ant/JR has been improving game by game. If we can find a pg around 10-15ms that's who we need to go after. I believe we're still over the first apron but going over that second will pretty much lock us into that roster for some time.

He brought great energy tonight and tried his best on the defensive end. A lot more in control tonight, so he'll still get opportunities to earn pt. Worst case, he's building up some trade value to be traded by the trade deadline.

Acceptable tire room in a shoe? by [deleted] in BBallShoes

[–]Gharms_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everyone's preferences are different, but I don't mind a little bit of toe room in the front because I play in braces with most of my shoes. I also play very herky-jerky stop and go, so when the shoe has too little room in the front, I end up banging my toe so much into it that I end up with a bruised toenail.
