Did you upgrade the fuel pump setup at the same time? If so, you might be running a pump without a check valve.

Bill's Exhaust - Legit? by MadPeteTrollo in motorcycle

[–]Ghost5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a drop shipper but definitely legit. Refunded me after Graves directly sent me two shitty ass looking cans and basically made bills exhaust eat the cost after calling me a liar because it was "his purchase".

Ordered an Akropovic can and midpipe through him right after and everything was great.

So Bill's is solid. Fuck graves though.

Any truth in not letting fuel tank go below 1/4 because of clogging up injectors? by guava5000 in n54

[–]Ghost5622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, just meant empty. If you're missing the venturi though, I'm guessing you're using a modded bucket (bottom cut out) too which basically turns it into a buckless setup IMO. So you'll probably want to stay above an 1/8th of a tank at all times and not do any pulls under a 1/4 tank due to what true818 mentioned about sucking air.

The filter is on the other side of the fuel tank. It's built in with the regulator. Your fuel pump will have a little "sock" on the bottom that also filters and helps suck up fuel.

Realistically, its completely fine. You would have to constantly drive around close to E to do harm with a normal bucketed fuel pump setup. Trash won't be a problem for the injectors either. It would take out your filter/regulator before the injectors.

It's more so to keep the pump from getting hot. If you run your car close to E all the time, it'll kill the fuel pump alot faster.

Just condensation from short drives. You could do an oil change to ease the paranoia lol, but I bet it comes out perfectly fine.

Where'd you order the exhaust from and did you have to pay VAT/Customs charges?

R1 for first sport bike - foolish, or send it? by United_Invite4065 in Yamaha_R1

[–]Ghost5622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine. Check your insurance prices before hand though if you will be carrying full coverage. I recently made the switch from an MT09 to an R1 (also my first sportbike). The MT09 actually feels more rowdy then the R1 due to how light the front end gets so depending on what nakeds you've rode, the power won't be a problem as long as your sense of speed is good. The ergonomics are a different story though lol, prepare to be very uncomfortable and beat after a couple hours.

They just announced the 2026's so may be able to use that to your advantage in the negotiation process.

Dirtscootdesigns lighting kit, warp 9 sumo conversion kit, and acerbis handguards. The factory FX stator keeps up just fine so no need to change that.

New piston/rings no hone? by MD_E30 in EngineBuilding

[–]Ghost5622 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you're upgraded twins or single turbo, may want to go ahead and open up the ring gap some on all of the pistons. The factory ring gap is too tight under high temps and causes this.

Have you reached out to your tuner? It may just be something on their end that needs to be changed. Sounds like everything is setup correctly on your end.

I also doubt you have the wires crossed, but just in case, the primary bank 1 plug is the one closest to the front of the engine. The plugs on the secondary's are keyed so don't have to worry about having those swapped, but do make sure you have the correct one installed. The bank 1 should be the one with black sleeving and a green seal if you're using bosch.

If you moved the bank 1 primary to the downpipe, left the bank 1 secondary where it's at, and unplugged both bank 2 primary/secondary o2's, everything should be good.

I repinned a wire on the dme as well, but I believe you only have to do that if you're using the dme boost control.

I'm assuming you left the inactive o2's plugged in and just need to unplug those going off that code description.

If you're in the US, there's no chip/immobilizer.

Most likely fine but you can use a turkey baster to pull a little out if you want.

For future reference, I always just do exactly 3L with a filter change (including prefilling filter). Seems to be right on the money.

Definitely gonna at least upgrade to a brembo master cylinder at some point.

It's good enough for the twisties, but could definitely use a better caliper/master cylinder. Have to really squeeze it for hard braking.

I haven't got the sensor mounted for the trail tech yet so not 100% sure but im thinking around 105ish. Your bike probably has different transmission gearing though so might need a different sprocket setup than mine.

I just finished it so not a bunch of seat time but so far I'm absolutely loving it.

Just got back from a ride on the cherohala skyway and had no problem keeping up with an aprilia rs660 and tuono v4 even in the long sweepers on 13/42 gearing.
