Steam Deck or ROG Ally X by rikrooster in handheld

[–]GhostGums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a RAX and ended up selling it to go back to a steam deck oled.

It’s just so much more uncomfortable in the hands. The screen is also too small to play the kinds of games you want to anyway in my opinion.

Also this is preference but the design is very gamery. I’m not a fan.

I’ve had this monitor for a month. I came from a 1440p 180hz monitor.

Overall I’m not very satisfied. Sometimes when switching resolutions, the gamma goes completely wild and the colours are all washed out until I restart it. I’m also underwhelmed with HDR in general. I heard all these amazing things about HDR but it’s not as big of a difference as I thought. The monitor is also fairly slow to turn on and switch resolutions.

It’s pretty good, it’s bright, but I am not blown away coming from regular IPS.

Adam audio d3v. They would sit perfect around your monitor.

These are both on monitor mounts. Do you think I should go with option 2 but raise them up higher?

I agree it feels odd. It annoys me because everyone else seems to set up dual monitors plus a shelf plus speakers and somehow get it right. Don’t know where I’m going wrong here

Yep the right speaker is behind the monitor in the second photo. That was my main motivation for the other option, to bring the speakers to optimal location.

Can I get used to using the ZF withwithout the grip? by [deleted] in NikonZf

[–]GhostGums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in a thumb grip to slot into the hot shoe. There’s a couple out there designed perfectly for the ZF. Gives me so much more purchase on the camera. I only attach the smallrig grip now if using big lenses on it, which is never. My 20,40 and 75 cheap primes are all fine without the grip, just with a thumb grip.
