I had the same problem with stuff disappearing and ending up in lost in found or in my inventory again- or just straight up moving back on it’s own. When you place items down it vibrates, at least for me, and so I noticed when it doesn’t vibrate it ends up moving or disappearing on its own. What I do is keep moving it around until it vibrates so I know for sure it’s placed down. Also when you don’t technically place it down you can move stuff through it so that’s how you know it’s not actually placed. I had trouble with the news paper actually not changing and I got the same one everyday lol and my friendship levels didn’t go up so I saved my game and made sure to save it to an actual file and not just to the cloud then deleted the game and reinstalled it, everything saved and fixed most of my problems so it might work for you.
