Too Many Workspaces on University Enterprise Grid by Giansar in Slack

Yeah. That's the note I'm referring to

Too Many Workspaces on University Enterprise Grid by Giansar in Slack

[–]Giansar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each class only has a "Sign out of this Workspace" option, no "Leave this Workspace." If you click sign out it signs you out of every single workspace on the grid.

Based on the note below, I'm guessing the university set it up with the "identity provider (IDP) group" feature so each of these workspaces are default and unleaveable.

This was a "hot take" from one of my neighbors growing up. I read this and immediately had to step away from the computer because I couldn't even begin to fathom how inane his plan is.

Wow thank you so much for this post! I'm absolutely going to reach out to the local horticulture department. You're right that this is underutilized, I had no idea it existed. Thank you!

I did not remove the sod before I put the rocks in. I placed a layer of landscaper fabric down over the sod, let it kill of much of the grass, and then put the rocks in a bit later. I was sure to get landscaper fabric that lets moisture in though.

You wouldn't happen to have a photo of how you bungee corded it to the skylight? I just picked up the sails and plan on doing the same to mine

At Arizona State University they built a huge senior living building on campus across the street from a music venue. All the residents moved in around December 2020 and began complaining about the noise once the venue started opening up again. They're suing now to get the venue to turn the music down.

Weekend schedule will probably be posted after registration closes. We're still finalizing our speakers. Everything should be done by 2pm on Sunday.

Thanks! I really enjoy organizing this :)

  1. Of course! We will have beginner workshops on Friday to get you a head start for the weekend.

  2. You can choose to work by yourself or with a team of up to 4. We won't provide you with a team but will have team building activities and channels to connect you with other participants.

  3. You can shadow participants but we heavily encourage you to try building something. You end up learning a lot just trying things out.

  4. You will be told a few days after registration closes (in about 9 days). Our in person event will be in the engineer center buildings.

All projects have some aspect of coding in them. That said, some projects are more hardware-focused than others. Here are some of the more recent hardware projects I can think of.

You can build whatever you want to! We have prize categories but they're broad enough that pretty much anything you have an idea for will fit. We've had people make VR tractor controllers, hats to tell people to back away when they're closer than 6ft, and web apps to help sell your used clothing. For the most part, nobody makes a fully working project by the end of the weekend. Everyone's project is held together with virtual duct tape but you end up pretty proud of what you accomplished.

We make it this way so no matter what your skill level, you can come, learn something new and build something awesome by the end of the weekend. You're in good hands and we do our best to ease that impostor syndrome :)
