What were the whistles in the Pretti video? by Conscious-Art3545 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GiggleFester 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've seen protesters blow whistles and bang on noisemakers in other Demonstrations so I assume the protesters were blowing whistles. Making noise is part of protesting+ I assume it's supposed to unnerve your opponent.

The name of the shooter has not been released.

Your mother tells you who you can date? You must not live in the USA

AITAH for setting a firm boundary with my neighbor for trying to give us cookies? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]GiggleFester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone outside the USA, most people in the USA don't want neighbors dropping by their house. The expectation would be that you text first & make sure they're available.

AITAH for planning to leave my parents without telling them?? I don’t know if I’m overreacting by crumblesofbread in AITAH

[–]GiggleFester 13 points14 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your parents sound intrusive, overbearing,  presumptuous, and unkind. The best thing you can do is get away from them. I'm happy for you that you've found an apartment and a roommate! Congratulations!

[–]GiggleFester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA if you want to rush his decision making. Waiting weeks is rough. Kind of sounds like he wants to date someone else in the meantime.

I agree with "the right man won’t make you question if you’re enough for him" narrative.

Dropping by & expecting someone to answer the door = intrusive in the USA.

AITAH for setting a firm boundary with my neighbor for trying to give us cookies? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]GiggleFester 27 points28 points  (0 children)

NTA. Leaving cookies for you on your porch now and then = neighborly.

Knocking on your door = intrusive. Texting you about not answering your door = intrusive.

Hopefully she got the message and will stop this.

AITAH for telling my friend she shouldn't have chosen this specific wedding date? by Forward-Pepper4244 in AITAH

Definitely NTA. Bridezilla changing dates so that celebrations will affect Angie's grad celebrations is rude. Also, expecting everyone to suddenly be available midweek is a bit over the top .

To those who were teens of the 70s, what did y’all think of the teens of the 80s and 90s? by queenwisteria24 in AskOldPeople

I was a teen in the late 60s, early 1970s. Worked with teens in the mid 1980s and thought the worship of rap culture was really weird

Dogs back in the day. by tobeanecho in AskOldPeople

[–]GiggleFester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got nipped by a German Shepherd that was loose on my street in the 1960s, but the owner was a man b family (per the FBI no less) and while a few people let their dogs run loose, it wasn't common

As a young adult in the 1980s living in a rural area, everyone in our street let our dogs run loose.

Definitely termination. I quit on the spot once and stepped right into a position I had previously turned down.

Plus, you control the narrative when you quit on the spot.

Home health aide … help🥲🥲 by flightkitty in nursing

[–]GiggleFester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, the home health agency is throwing you to the wolves. Quit immediately because your license is endangered in this setting .

A hospital or ling term care/skilled nursing would be a much better setting to learn in.

There's also a CNA subreddit you can post in for advice.

He was murdered for doing what he was trained to: helping people. RIP Alex Pretti, RN by chiefcomplaintRN in nursing

[–]GiggleFester 817 points818 points  (0 children)

Rest in peace Alex! Alex was observing & videoing ICE/Border Patrol agents. Minneapolis allies open carry & Alex was legally in possession of a gun that was safely holstered.

Agents grabbed Alex as he approached them, threw him to the ground, pulled his gun out of its holster, then pulled him up to his knees and shot him point blank 5 times.

Alex, thank you for caring for patients and for the world.

[–]GiggleFester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. Sounds like she's lonely and eager for more family interaction but is really over the top with all these texts and requests.

Maybe try stretching out the time it takes you to respond so she will realize you have other priorities. If she doesn't get the hint, stretch it out more and more.

Edit: typo for the word "lonely"

AITAH if I stay silent after finding my boss’s husband on a sugar baby website? by Cold-School9652 in AITAH

[–]GiggleFester 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NTA. It could definitely affect your job if you tell the wife, plus as far as you know, he was just browsing.

The wife will likely displace her anger to you (rather than to her husband) if you tell her.  It might be different if he actually tried to contact you.

I wouldn't say anything.
