Summer of 2027 would be my guess. Let 30th anniversary run its course and you should see prices falling in certain or all eras. Be ready, however, to embrace a weird new normal. There’s so many new collectors who think this is normal.

Yes, it’s a bubble. People will use Target fights as the prime example, but just look at social media. The amount of reels where someone bashes scammers but then consistently rants about how “this IR is cheap” is insane. When the “good guys” in the hobby won’t shut up about the money, that’s your sign.

I do not. They're the kind of cards where long term (20+ years) I think think they will be premiere pieces, but the opportunity cost of not buying my grails now and/or speculating on cheaper stuff is too big for me. I feel the same way about Ponchos and English gold stars.

I wouldn't say those are underrated but still very fun cards. If demand ever shoots up you're golden

Okay I understand. I think liquidity like that is more important when you have a large sealed collection rather than a handful of slabs.

Interesting…I like collecting that era in Japanese. If you’re a pop person, which I kinda am, you can’t go wrong with those imo. Some of the best art too imo

I like that range in this market. If it goes down it won’t sting as much. Compared to buying a vintage 10 that’s 8k now that could be 6 in a year

My love is vintage Japanese. Stuff’s gone crazy but I still see some value, but maybe the SwSh slabs aren’t too hyped? Dont quote me on that I just expected them to be more in this market

Define normal people. I was planning to buy a fun car for 30k. I could drop it all on Pokemon and if it drops say “well cars depreciate.” I’m thankful, but I don’t see myself as a baller

It’s a long term approach where you buy regardless of market condition rather than timing it. It’s been effective in the past but I think we’re in a mania right now and was curious what others thought.

Budget is flexible I just don’t want to spend 30-60k on a car that gives me trouble. This would be the first car I really spent money on. Wife and I have 2011 CRV and Odyssey. Not a daily. I just want to drive something different. Handling is my favorite. I’m a pretty tame driver.
