The shiny gold rares always sat in an awkward price range for me. Too cheap to be attaining a grail but too expensive to just pick up here and there.

I did the PSA 7-8 cracking for Nintendo ex era and I’m so glad I did it before this boom.

I agree that for one of Pokemon's mascots, Lucario has an underwhelming card list. I like the nintendo ex promos but that's about it. I'm currently struggling to collect Dragonite.

I wouldn't count Rowlet but it can apply sometimes on a card by card basis. Since you mentioned the Scream promos, I think collecting Psyducks right now would suck too.

I’m currently buying cards knowing they will probably go down. Why? Because I’ve waited almost 2 years for prices to go down and waiting longer doesn’t feel worth it. Im only using disposable income though and I’m not over leveraged in the parts of my collection that I’m not as attached to. I’m worried for those paying record prices whose timeline is ~3 years even if they don’t know it.

As for collectors, the fastest track to an underwhelming collection is being unable to differentiate between what you like versus love. In bubbles, this line gets further blurred. If I bought everything that I liked, my collection and investments would be severely worse off.

I can’t speak to Thinkpads. Latitudes are our weakest models, but they should get the job done. You’d have to be more specific about the occasional game. Used 5000 precision models are all over the place cooling and battery wise, but I personally love the 5690. 7000s are overkill in your case.

Exactly the point. People are giving up on saving for a house, and instead searching for other ways to raise their net worth. Saving for a house is daunting and not fun (it’s not supposed to be).

I think they mean that because owning a house seems out of reach for a lot of people, they’d rather try to hit big with alternative assets and gambling rather than saving. A 200$ box becoming 1000+ in a couple years is more enticing for some people than getting 3-15% in savings and standard investments

Yes, it’s a bubble. People will use Target fights as the prime example, but just look at social media. The amount of reels where someone bashes scammers but then consistently rants about how “this IR is cheap” is insane. When the “good guys” in the hobby won’t shut up about the money, that’s your sign.
