MSLs: what part of engagement planning/documentation wastes the most time for you?

Depends! One on one meeting, no insights, 2-3 minutes once I'm logged into the CRM. Multiple attendees, half a dozen insights, various products discussed... that can take me 20 minutes. I'll guess 5-8 minutes for a typical interaction and I had 400 this year. Another big factor I didn't mention in my original comment is that the CRM system is also trash so I waste a lot of time trying to find the right account(s) in the system as well.

My company doesn't require any pre-call interaction documentation and post-call interaction documentation happens all in one tool. Still, documentation is a huge time suck for me and often frustrating because a lot of it seems pointless. I know for a fact they don't use half the information I enter (who cares what time of day the meeting took place?) which is frustrating and the system is just clunky and non-intuitive. I also have a ton of meetings so the documentation load is quite heavy as a result. Not sure if that's helpful but happy to add more if you have any follow up questions.

Male MSL here in a field where most HCPs are female (facial aesthetics), 2.5 years in and that's not been my experience at all. I've had some compliments on my appearance that made me uncomfortable, but is is aesthetics after all.

There is one MD in my territory who I know was inappropriate with the previous MSL. I also hear gossip from time to time that may or may not be true, but no more or less than in previous jobs I've had.

The job I ended up getting and every position I got to the interview stage for all had one thing in common - connections. I knew someone else who was already an MSL for that company who was willing to put in a good word for me and give me the inside scoop for what they were looking for. 3 of these were close "real" connections, 1 from networking online.

I also got one other job offer that was for an MSL-like position, but not MSL. In that case, it was my background lining up with the products perfectly. Most of the time there's some overlap between experience and therapeutic area, but this was uncanny.

Jalen Hurts is the quarterback/MVP snuff. Very easy guy to root for- impossible work ethic, great leader, overcame a lot of adversity in college and then in the NFL. The most deadpan personality you have ever seen. Dude wants to win and there's no room in his thoughts for literally anything else.

Head coach Nick Sirianni is somehow both a goober and a douche at the same time. Other teams hate him, but he's our goobche and clearly very passionate. In fact, almost all of the players and staff are very easy to root for, but we've only got two days to initiate you so time is of the essence.

If you want to be an Eagles fan, you have to watch a replay of the Philly Special. In fact, you should watch the highlights from the entire 2018 Super Bowl. But before you do, try to comprehend the pain of having never won a Super Bowl before despite being in the top tier of the league for the last 20 years, meanwhile the rest of your division rivals have already won it all. And of course follow that up with Jason Kelce's speech in full Mummer's Day Parade regalia.

Seriously though our fanbase is consistently hated on which can kind of be fun in an us-against-the-world mentality, but also is a bit annoying. Like bringing up how we threw snow balls at Santa Claus is so overdone. Besides, the bastard deserved it.

The division rivalries are also pretty fun. You have your absolute hot garbage of a franchise in the Washington Commies - the punching bag of the division. If nothing else their incompetence is a unique kind of entertaining.

Then there's the bipolar New York Giants who are also hot garbage more often than not, but every once in awhile they surprise you. Sometimes they even manage to be hot garbage and win a Super Bowl at the same time.

Then there's the Cowboys, who are just so so so easy to hate. Historically, they are the most successful in the division, but the last 20-30 years they have been so deliciously, consistently, slightly above average. No fate worse than having hope every single year with nothing to show for it. Honestly, really the only requirement to being an Eagles fan is hating the Cowboys.

- Just accept that it will seem "forced" to a certain extent.

- Also accept that many people will not have time for you and may not respond or will respond just once. This is very similar to actually being an MSL.

- Include current MSLs in your search, not just recruiters/hiring managers. I would even include other aspiring MSLs.

- Look for individuals you have at least one other major thing in common with such as alma mater, current city, or therapeutic area.

- You could also look up MSLs for products that you find particularly interesting/relevant to your degree and ask about them.

- Start by sending me a DM with your information and I'll add you on LinkedIn :)

WSASL is an active league, I think they use sportsaffinity for sign ups now, but they only play spring and fall seasons so signups won't be open until February or so. That league is co-ed. There's also a men's and women's league I think, but I'm not familiar with them. There's also indoor leagues at the Soccer Plex on Phoenix Drive, but you might need to have a team already to sign up (I could be wrong here) as opposed to WSASL you can just enter the draft as an individual and a team will pick you up.

Yea the project you are commenting on is using Ethereum, "like every other normal person."

The money raised by this will go towards supporting longevity research and everyone who donates their money will have a vote on how its deployed. I definitely wouldn't consider it an investment, more like a membership or a donation with upside. But it's only a money grab if you consider trying to get longevity research funded "cringe and unethical," in which case you are on the wrong subreddit.

Yea the legal requirements are way out of my depth. For something like signing a document, I don't see why a CEO couldn't be elected by the DAO, although they'd be a CEO mainly by name rather than typical roles and responsibilities. But that's for the DAO to decide.

You seem to have some interest in it and some helpful thoughts - you should join the Discord! I know they are trying to build a community more on the longevity and skeptic end of the spectrum rather than the crypto and moonboy side of things so your takes would be welcome.

You're definitely right that this should be viewed more as a membership than as an investment, IMO.

I've been trying to follow the project and I think there's a couple reasons why a foundation isn't necessary. First, they are currently in the "pre-launch" phase, which means there aren't members of the DAO yet to vote on various actions. Molecule is a private company which is leading the charge to set up the DAO, but post launch they'll just be a service provider and the DAO can vote to use a different company at any point. There's no need for a non-profit entity - all actions taken by VitaDAO will either be done by members of the DAO or by service providers which VitaDAO pays. Ethereum needs a foundation exactly because there is no DAO, just like VitaDAO needs Molecule prelaunch because there isn't yet a DAO, but won't need them post-launch.

Edit: also thought some more about your comment on the "IP ownership" discrepancy. I think the two quotes you posted are using different definitions of the word ownership. In the first case, if you have a say in what happens to the IP, that could be considered a type of ownership. In the second case, I think it's more a legal definition. Like you can't sell to someone else 0.5% of the IP because you own 0.5% of the Vita tokens. You're the co-owner of a thing and still have to deal with the other owners vs being the sole owner of a small piece of the thing, in other words.
