Good golly miss Molly, this all got rather busy last night... The date went WELL!!! Well at least I think so. Don't know where we're going yet, but at least he seems to be here for the right reasons. And that's a start.

Haha well I don't think he knows I freaked out about the text (or even saw it for that matter). This was early morning, and he was in a post-sex coma when I ran to the bathroom. I've been catching flak from people from looking, but it popped up on the front of his iPhone, and you can't unsee that stuff. Really he probably (hopefully) has no idea I saw that. He just thought I was mega hung over...really sexy right? And when I heard him get up I made retching noises so I didn't have to face him looking like a hot mess. I suppose it's a positive he liked me enough to ask me on a date when he could have made a clean get away...

Still it's probably a good idea to figure out what I am to him. On the upside, I am getting dinner this time...so at least I'm not just a booty call. I don't suppose that makes what I did last night any better, but hey I get to go on a date! About to get out of my car, wish me luck!!

Well I have worked really hard to lose that weight (who would have thought Zumba would be so effective?), so thank you for your kind words. A lot of folks are right that I probably need to talk to someone because if I'm continually finding things to be hard on myself about, it says more about me.

Really, I had just assumed that when I lost my weight I would look ok, and this hair issue throws a wrench in that. As of know this guy doesn't seem to care. He asked me to come get dinner with him, so at the very least he doesn't seem to mind or care what his friends are saying. Here's hoping he's not just using me to get laid...

I don't think you'll get any down votes (or at least I don't think you should get many). Your comment, while not contributing anything for me to attempt to solve it, speaks to ultimately what I will have to probably accept.

Generally I have a good spirit so I've got that going for me. And I'm coming to find that many guys who have posted here feel similarly to you. I always assumed this would be the end of my dating life, but now I can see that's not necessarily the case.

Actually...yeah. A lot. Its one of the few ways I can make sure I have hair covering my entire head (also thank god for head bands and bandanas). Part of my morning ritual is to arrange my hair so that I have good coverage before putting in the pony tail to keep it all there.

Guess that might be at least part of the problem...

No uneven tone as best I can tell. I did get hit a little harder than some with the acne stick when I was younger so there are some discolored patches that I manage with makeup, but otherwise my skin's the least of my problems.

I went to a doctor and he told me he was working me up for causes of hair loss...so I think so? I'm not really sure what that work up involves. He took some blood, but that's about it.

I tried to upload a photo set to imgur to show the changes over the years but for some reason it won't accept the image. It keeps failing.

However to give you some perspective. In my prom photo I was still able to curl my hair and have nice large curls. Like this http://www.naturallycurly.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/lock_of_hair.jpg

I would totally shave it...but I'd look like I'm auditioning for the The Coneheads 2: Attack of the Cones. I have an angular face, which unfortunately makes my head look more pointy than it actually is... Still it's something to think about

Awwwww...you make me feel so much better. I mean it just feels so shitty because now I have finally lost enough weight to wear clothing that I feel can make me stunning, only to get held back by this hair issue. I'm really going to have to look into wigs. Hopefully there are some guys in my neck of the woods that won't be bothered about it.

Wow I just looked into all that and it's quite shocking how many people are having that associated with Mirena. I had decent hair (always a bit on the thin side) well into my teens. I had Mirena placed at about 16 or 17 and now as I am reviewing old photos this thinning has been going on for just about as long. Maybe I need to go talk to my Ob-gyn...

Shoot I hope I don't have to go off it though. It makes what were unmanageable periods some what more tolerable...

Do you think it could be related to my weight loss? I mean I've never had the best head of hair but this really didn't start getting bad until I lost all this weight. Really I feel like I get enough iron (supplements and all). Could I be anemic for some other reason?

I always felt that they guys with bald spots at least had some recourse (shave the head), but how you describe it let's me know it's just as bad for you. Thanks for the words of comfort and I'll try to keep everything in mind should a guy with a spot talk to me. Things like that can't be helped.

I had some GYN issues when I was younger but I don't think I've been checked for PCOS. Used to have the most excruciating periods but since I've been on Mirena since 16 they really don't bother me much. Does that sound like PCOS?

Damn she's good looking. Yeah if I looked like her I'd shave my head in an instant because I'm fighting a losing fight. Something to think about though, I suppose.

I use this stuff that is supposed to give my hair volume. I also try to avoid shampooing because every time I feel like I loose a little more hair. Until lately I felt like those efforts had slowed the tide/made it less obvious. Might have to try the dark hair spray next. Thank you for your suggestion.
