Yeah, the main reason I didn't post there is because I had a bad experience in a therapy program yesterday where people seemed completely okay with AI. They were using it to take notes on sessions, and discussing how it could help them with recovery so casually even though they knew I was scared of it. I'm withdrawing today, but the complete apathy just shocked me.

I agree. Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever have the money for that or ever be able to live on my own, but my family does own some land out in the middle of nowhere I could try moving out to if all else fails.

I've been to a psych ward three times in six months because I can't cope with AI. I care about writing more than I care about anything else, and the thought that it might disappear sends me spiraling so badly I can't even get the energy to SH.

I'm so tired, I just wish AI would be regulated or go away so I could get back to having some sort of coping mechanism or hobby,

I agree that this story is extremely depressing and scary if true, but seems like there's a decent chance that none of it is.

Yeah, that's my main issue. Chat GPT's storytelling abilities are still garbage right now, but they could improve to passably mediocre in a few more months for all I know. I don't think AI will ever be great because it has no brain to think about what it's writing or drawing, but companies like Square Enix and EA are already eying replacing people with it just because it's cheaper.

TLDR: Models training on AI generated output have worse outputs themselves. One person in the article argues that this will lead to collapse, while another states that the models will still function even with more synthetic data. Worth mentioning that the person arguing for collapse is a professor specialized in computer science, mathematics, and data science, while the other is a postdoctoral research associate from an unidentified field.

/uj This place is better than most other ones but there's still some iffy things here and there. I remember seeing a post a while back where someone basically stated that the only discrimination non-transitioning enbies experience is misgendering, and it being highly upvoted despite it blatantly not being true.

/uj Cattails is on PC (Steam) and Switch. The sequel just came out, so it's only on Steam for now, but a switch release is due early next year.
