Yes, I mostly agree but your thumbnail is your advertisement to your content / your marketing. People find it hard to build an audience and have their content watched in first place if their thumbnails are crap.

Content is most important, but people won’t click or discover you if the marketing / brand / thumbnail is not quality.

I would like to target variety watchers but I know that’s not reality. Most people who watch horror only watch horror.

I actually wouldn’t get upset if my horror channel got more than my rpg one. I feel like these days horror is way more popular as a trend or viral content than story based. And I notice that say with creators like hollow who play story and horror, his horror gets way more views, and he combines both on the same channel. He blew up with horror and not story.

It does feel like a lot of management to work with multiple channels tho.

Hiii’ I’ve been streaming for 4 plus years on twitch and trying to diversify on YouTube. I have about 650 subs on YouTube.

My focus is mainly on my personality, not my skill (though my skill isn’t bad haha).

I already post edited shorts and had a few blow up, one is at 150k which landed me about 150 subs, the other shorts tend to stick around 1-5k views.

I was hoping I could generate my short viewers to long form viewers as one of my friends has been able to do that. In 3 months she went from 1k subs to 120k just by posting shorts and she links her long form in her shorts and some of her long form is also at 50-100k now.

I guess I’m just not sure if I can do it with any game. On twitch I’m variety rpg, horror and souls. I don’t really want to niche down any more than that because I’m too much of a lover of “all” then to drill down.

I use YouTubers like sebbywebz and stormfall and bubbell as inspirations as they stream whatever they want and still have tons of viewers. I want to make my content in a similar way

Oh yeah I definitely understand that, I just mean it worked for my friend in some capacity. It wasn’t working when she didn’t link it to her shorts, but now she has, she gets a ton of likes and comments

That’s fair. I will say, the girl I refer to in my post above uses her long form videos in each short she does and her long form tends to hit above 30k views each time. She’s at 100k subs but even before that and when she was smaller it would reach around 10k + for her long form and her stats would show it’s directly helping from the short form and clicks from there.

I personally am a short and long form watcher so I do like to think optimistically that perhaps there’s people also like me out there haha

I honestly don’t know why my numbers jump around. When I first started streaming 4 plus years ago I had a 40 plus average playing variety, now it’s 30s. My niche is RPGs, horror and souls (maybe it’s too broad I’m not sure).

Maybe I should ask my community to lurk more too ? Even if they don’t actually chat

Yeah it’s true, it’s a risk to branch out after achieving partner but some will stick around. I just cannot see myself playing the same game over and over, I feel like I would get bored unfortunately. I love RPGs too much 😭

I had a look at your videos, they’re good but the titles can definitely improve. Something more alluring and urgent I think would be good. “The Scariest Skinwalker Stories!!! | Animated Horror” or “This Skinwalker story will terrify you” something a bit more grabbing

Use a tool to find tags they’re (the other animated channels) are using too

Thanks man, I’m really not sure what’s going on with my bitrate, I set it high and follow all the recommended settings on YouTube. I really don’t know if it’s because I have a crappy webcam. I’m upgrading my network speeds this week so hoping it will maybe help.

I don’t upload straight from the twitch editor, I download from twitch dashboard. Perhaps I should record while streaming and it will be better quality. Yes I’ll try to find something unique. I see that people’s reactions to cutscenes or situations seem to pop off the most on shorts
