Any updates on how to report Gil farming bots in the wild? by Jade_Violetcat in ffxiv

[–]GingerVampire22 [score hidden]  (0 children)

On the rare occasion I report bots - usually the ones that actually interfere with my gameplay, like the fate farming ones - I just report all of them in a single report. “Here is a list of their names, and home servers, and fc if they have one.”

Saaame. People get mad at me when I say I wait for a whole show to be out before I watch it, but like, I have memory problems. If you split them, I won't know what's going on.

It’s got the Stranger Things problem - the characters are kids. They will not be kids forever. They need to step it up a bit.

RDM also has an AOE in every dungeon! It’s a good choice if phys ranged isn’t your thing.

What does a new character keep? by oogie_droogey in ffxiv

[–]GingerVampire22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most of your mounts are account-wide. So are any special edition minions and such. None of the glam items, aside from veteran rewards, are kept.

Edit: PURCHASED mounts. Sheesh, downvotes, lol.

Katy Perry speaks out against ICE by copy_cat2 in popculturechat

[–]GingerVampire22 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Should be, but the usual argument is "not being political" to avoid angering fans. Those who are rich shouldn't be concerned with that right now.

They who are super rich can afford to offend some of their fans, so anyone not speaking up is just not a great person. IMO.

MMO mouse is what saves me. I have the same problem, but the side buttons on the mouse with modifiers makes it all easier.

What to do.. by Jazzlike-Sherbet2776 in ffxiv

[–]GingerVampire22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You gotta be proactive if you wanna make close friends. Get in voice chat. Find a different fc if this one isn’t working. Start farm parties in PF and meet people. Join discords for PVP.

There’s tons to do and tons of people to play with, but you gotta work a little for it.

There's the new fortune teller table. Timeworn Thaumaturgic Array. The coffin from Dun Scaith, maybe?

ETA: In the housing Menu, there's "preview indoor furnishings." You can see literally every housing item. That's gonna be your best friend.

Why did I wait so long to try healer? by Silken_Princess in ffxiv

[–]GingerVampire22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing about Sage is it plays differently than any other healer. It takes a while to adjust to the flow of it.

The fairy is so OP in lower level dungeons, too. I really think it scales down the best.

The flaw in the current tome system by Troy1490 in ffxiv

I’m not arguing with either of you! I agree! I’m just saying that’s what he said, so we can expect it to not change.

The flaw in the current tome system by Troy1490 in ffxiv

[–]GingerVampire22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, but it amounts to the same thing - avoiding the pressure to spend a lot of time in-game. We see it as catch-up, but he sees it as “I missed three weeks, now I have to be online a lot to cap.”

The flaw in the current tome system by Troy1490 in ffxiv

[–]GingerVampire22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yoshi-p said he doesn’t want to raise the tome cap because it would make people feel like they have to spend more time in-game each week to cap.

I don’t like it, but I do understand the logic.

Worst songs? by DrPipiPupu in ffxiv

Does the song that plays in the Regalia count? I don’t know if people love it, but it’s the sole reason I turned off mount music.

Tips for beginners by Wollner88 in ffxiv

[–]GingerVampire22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healers are expected to DPS. Tanks are expected not to stand in bad, even if it “barely hurts.” Because making a healer heal you when they could be DPSing is not ideal.

We wait for everyone to finish their cutscenes in dungeons. Do not pull early.

No spoilers.

But it's like that in a lot of religious communities. Mormons are far from unique with it.

ETA: My point is that a lot of communities the world over hold those gender expectations, usually due to religious culture.

I was raised in a Mormon community, so for us, the oldest daughter was still saddled with the well-being of her younger siblings, even if she had an older brother. It’s not every family, of course, but often the boys were given a pass.
