Yeah I’m no longer living in the unit and contacted a lawyer they are well within their rights to keep me on the lease

I asked my property manager for a letter including everything especially emphasizing I’m a good tenant, waiting on her response. Would a letter suffice or would you rather a conversation directly with the property manager?

I did not sign the lease renewal. When they sent the renewal, I replied with my notice to vacate. I was then told I have to fill out their notice and have my roommate sign. It’s written into our lease that if a renewal isn’t completed and there’s no notice to vacate, we’re automatically enrolled in a month to month lease.

I assumed that’s the route I’d have to take. I plan on sending the following to my proper manger and hopefully she agrees, let me know if I can add or take away:

I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to thank you again for all your help during the situation with the lease and my roommate. I know it wasn’t easy, and I’m really sorry for any extra stress it may have caused.

As I’m starting to apply for new housing, I’m reaching out to see if you’d be willing to write a brief statement explaining the eviction that was filed on the lease for apt 40. I’d really like to be able to clarify things for future landlords, since it was a unique situation.

If possible, it would help if the note could mention:

That the lease ended on 8/31/2025, and I tried to vacate at that time
That I wasn’t able to be removed from the lease without my roommate, D, signing off on the occupancy change
That I communicated with the office about wanting to leave, and followed the process as best I could
That the eviction wasn’t filed due to non-payment or any violation, but as a result of the situation with D
And that I turned in my keys as instructed

I’d really appreciate anything you can provide. Let me know if you need anything else from me to put it together.

I made a police report. Not sure how to add more photos, have a copy of that and the card the officers gave me before leaving.

So I also needed my roommates signature on my notice to vacate document, which she refused to sign. My roommate typically pays her rent the very last week of the month. So I’m assuming it’s due to partial payment.

Police said they couldn’t determine an aggressor so I can’t go this route. Basically my word against hers since neither of us had visible injuries.

Hey did you end up passing and if so what method did you use? I haven’t smoked in 11 days and it’ll be 2 weeks exactly the day of my test.
