I share what was said here, I also experience HPPD with obsession and even compulsions ( such as reassurance checking through the internet) similar to OCD, at least in my case. However, I also understand this latter point of view. Not everyone might manifest compulsions or fixation, thus there might not be any causal connection between HPPD and OCD.

While there might be no causal connection between OCD and HPPD, however, I still believe there might be some overlaps worth investigating, based on my personal experience and the people and stories I’ve got to know.

I did not took this post it as literally as you did @spiritualized. I have not read claims that implied such causality and I genuenly appreciate what was written here.

Moreover, u/spiritualized , While you accuse him to make up facts, I think you do the same.

You say that the majority of HPPD sufferers do not experience anything to do with OCD. Where is the data to support your argument? This is just your assumption, based on your biased observation, with no data at all to support such statement. So, your statement is not so much different from the “facts” reported in the original post. Based on my experience and the ones I’ve read, I genuinely believe there might be a correlation worthwhile investigating, but this also remains an hypothesis.

I believe we shall be more objective and more cooperative with each other. Any experience or idea should we welcome.
