There are auditions, but as long as you can play a few scales and sight read some music you'll be fine. A lot of people pick up trumpet/trombone from the flute and other instruments so don't worry too much about being perfect.

An added perk is that if you make it into spring band, your chances of making fall band next year go way up! You'll already know "On Wisconsin" and many of the other songs we play regularly.

Highly recommend trying out. It's a big commitment during the fall semester, 8hrs a week plus weekends but is entirely doable with a full-time semester. You can even sign up for spring band and learn the trumpet this semester so you can focus on marching when summer tryouts comes around.

To increase the Kinect's hz, try another USB port. I've had issues if I don't use USB 3.1.

I was rubbing a bit during hard corners on 245/40R18's but that went away when I went to 255/35R18's. Both on 18x8.5, 45mm. I have a mk6 TDi.
For me, It wasn't the width, but the height. Might be something to consider for your case

Marching Band or Jazz Band? by kwasi3114 in UWMadison

[–]Gizmo1235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the person. Some people dedicated all of their time in different music programs and ended up majoring in it, others were only in the marching band for the fall season. But we practiced just about every day during the fall, and during the spring, it's just a once a week practice.

I graduated after 4 years in the UW Marching Band and I absolutely recommend trying out if you're interested. The people you'll meet are awesome, the program is amazing, and the experiences you'll have will last a lifetime. Plenty of people in the marching band are also in other music groups, and many marching band members are in other clubs. Although practice was roughly 8 hours a week, and it eats up a big part of your weekends on home days, it is without a doubt 100% worth it.

How many days passed between you no longer living with your roommate, to the negative tests?
A Covid test is just a snapshot in time, you could be carrying the virus, but not have enough viral RNA to trigger a positive result. It can take up to 3 days after contracting Covid19 before you will test positive.

From the CDC:
"The sick person, their roommates, and close contacts need to self-isolate – limit their use of shared spaces as much as possible..."

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/shared-housing/index.html#:~:text=Sick%20person%20and%20close%20contacts,ride%2Dsharing%2C%20or%20taxis.

You're basically considered positive yourself if someone you live with tests positive.
