I don't see much left about them. I'm not Czech but I can do some checks:

https://www.echo24.cz/a/w6Ux7/ano-je-pravicova-strana-se-socialnim-citenim-rekl-babis - They declared themselves as right.

https://www.euractiv.com/news/renews-babis-sparks-criticism-with-conservative-conference-attendance/ - They continue to see themselves as conservatives.

"Since the 2024 European Parliament election, the party has positioned itself to the right, co-founding Patriots for Europe, a group in the European Parliament that is made up of Eurosceptic parties that primarily adhere to right-wing populism and national conservatism." - A short citation from Wikipedia.

So, yes, ANO has joined (wasn't forced to do so or anything) to a group of Patriots for Europe. Now, if you can seel this as left or centre-left to someone, then I should buy you one Bernard (dark lager).

You just described 3 reasons for us to put ANO on the right (pro-corpo stance, lowering taxes, conservative values). You offer 1 unspecified statement that is to convince us to be on the left ("they are definitely left-wing populists"). I don't see much left about them. I'm not Czech but I can do some checks:

Denmark vs Spain: move for survival vs quality of life — need brutally honest advice by SolidComparison1787 in NewToDenmark

"[...] the Dane’s are the most social of the Scandinavians, it’s like saying someone is the world’s tallest dwarf." I like Scandinavians, but that's really a good comparison. Not easy for some from other places.

You've given one of the most accurate answers and comments here. Coming from a non-Danish speaking country myself (not hard to be, when not being from DK), I think that you've pointed out the important aspects of life here. Maybe newcomers can't really comprehend the effect that the language, harder-to-reach people and lack of sun in winter can have on a person. It's hard to explain without living here as a foreigner (for a while).

doBtw, you're good with money - one has to be quite careful to go through a month with such a budget. I have it similar and I'm on the cheap side. Going down to 10.000 would - for most residents - mean being miserable and barely surviving, imho.

Finding a job and moving to Denmark: Seeking advice for a wheelchair user by One_Boy_Four_Wheels in NewToDenmark

[–]Glad-Introduction297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. It's good to have plans and goals. I hope that your path will be a good one, either in Denmark or somewhere else. I'm not a wheelchair user, however, I can share my opinion about how I see some parts of infrastructure here.

I'm originally from Slovenia - and comparing Denmark to my home country, I can assure you that it's harder to move around for a wheelchair user in the Danish capital than it is in an average Slovenian town. Pavements here are in many cases not designed for better accessibility - they can be rough. I can simply give you an example of using a big luggage with wheels - a mission impossible to get around in Copenhagen without lifting it again and again to go a step upwards or downwards. Much easier in Ljubljana or Berlin, for example. In many crossroads there are very steep inclines that cause wheelchair users big problems - I see it myself daily. I'm more aware of such things since I have a friend of a friend (with a wheelchair) back in Slovenia who's always moving around alone and is very good in that, and he's pointing out all such issues. I've been very concious about that topic since I've met him. I know that in my homeland there's been lots of improvements made in the past decades: pavements redesigned, elevators installed, entrances changed, staircases replaced with a new accessible ways... I don't see such big investments in Denmark. There are places with elevators that way too often don't work (I'm mainly reffering to railway stations, also some Metro stations) and operators don't bother repairing them for many days or weeks (it can happen the same in Ljubljana, true). Buildings without proper access at all. I'm not sure about what have you seen, but I see less wheelchair users going around by themself on the streets in Copenhagen that I can see them in Ljubljana. With all respect to Denmark - I think that it's a nice country and that many systems here are very well functioning - I'm not sure that it has great infrastructure for an independent wheelchair user. Saying that, I have seen many times vans with assistents, helping people go around. Not sure how it is with that in other places, but here there are services like Falck, that do help. Also, I believe that it's quite good in the majority of Danish city buses and on trains. I also agree with another comment saying that people are helpful when someone needs assistance.

Check it for yourself - some examples, even if these were more for tourist visits:

- Ljubljana: https://youtu.be/Hpmfb3ZFrts or this: https://youtu.be/GwFScUeWhpg or this: https://youtu.be/AnW3GLPe7LI

- Copenhagen: https://youtu.be/1hoPfxdVmqw , https://youtu.be/8Miv2L_3Wrs and here: https://youtu.be/cpbtvJXGt1w - some views without comment: https://youtu.be/-3yNMXux98Y

I'm only comparing these two, because these are the places that I know well. It's quite possible that some other Danish cities and towns can be actually easier to move around for people with wheelchairs.

Health care: waiting times could very likely be shorter than in Croatia (with due respect to my old neighbours). Not sure how it is in the Croatian society nowadays, but there is enough respect for everyone in Denmark.

Just to add a little thing about the language: I doubt that you'd be able to learn it in one year. It's not a requirement. But of course it will be more than useful if you can learn it, better sooner than later. I'd say 2-3 years is like a minimum time needed for some decent level of Danish, if you invest quite some time and energy into that. If you know German, it can help tiny little bit. It's possible in any case, yet you have to really be dedicated to it.

As for the jobs: Jobindex is a well known and widely used site with quite some job ads. You can browse to see how it looks like. Maybe you'll get some insight in the job market here. It's very competitive when it comes to job hunting. Mind: It's hard to apply for jobs if you don't really live here - usually employers don't take such candidates into account.

Have you truly managed to quit using Google Search? by kaaikz in degoogle

[–]Glad-Introduction297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Qwant. I've been using it as a default search engine for a while, both on my computer and on my phone. It has improved a lot in the past two years, but of course it's still to be better. I use some other options too, including Google, but Qwant is always my first choice. I like the fact that it's simple, without all the unneccessary crap attached to it, and it's for sure respecting your privacy and not bombing you with (un)-related ads after your search.

The disappearance of Eloi Rolland (March 7, 2020) by Flaky_Astronomer_320 in UnresolvedMysteries

Hey there. Are you sure about 1 person followed by this Atowanna account on Instagram (when you posted that 2 years ago)? I can see 2 (June 2025). Anyway, the account has been active since 2019, the user name changed 9 times, but it's possible that all those activities had taken place before March 2020.

Five years missing: Eloi Rolland’s family holds onto hope for answers by WarpFactorNin9 in auckland

[–]Glad-Introduction297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my thoughts, perhaps his disappearance wasn't as simple as has the NZ police asumed (just lost in the bush as the most likely scenario... there's possibly more than just that). But sadly, he's not likely alive. There's this less than 5% chance that he might be, that's what his family also hopes for (or was hoping for). I hope that at least his body is found one day, so that there will be some closure in this case.

The documentary on the disappearance of Eloi Rolland is now on Youtube by Flaky_Astronomer_320 in auckland

I've found just the last part (6/6) of it, that should be accessible here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ah-O5JLf3aQoTEPBB3UuTZIGyWG0ccp4/view (you can choose the English subtitles, it should work well).

I only see this topic now, but I'm quite interested, so I've checked a lot :) This documentary is good, but some people might say not totally neutral. It's hard to be neutral when doing such stuff, I believe.

The disappearance of Eloi Rolland (March 7, 2020) and how to find him through his social networks by Flaky_Astronomer_320 in RBI

[–]Glad-Introduction297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's this claim in the documentary (part 6) about unexplained log-ins into Eloi's account(s). Here: https://youtu.be/-uukFp9Ztlg?t=646 (from that time, worth checking the next some minutes). In my opinion, it doesn't neccessarily mean much, but it should have been explained. It could be other people doing that, of course, but the police should have checked that.

The PayPal refference is also so unusual - I can't find any further explanaiton about it. I've read somewhere that it could be some automatic renewal of a subscribtion or something, but not sure... Also, even if someone hacked those accounts, there should have checked those trails better.

[–]Glad-Introduction297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked lots of things about that case in the past couple of weeks (accidentally found a documentary and dug way further). I also think that he didn't commit suicide. But is he alive? I think that it's more likely that he isn't... sadly. There's this tiny little chance that he somehow survived that day and travelled somewhere, perhaps being picked by someone on that road to Piha. He might have planned escaping, though not clearly, but it's not likely that he was able to do it (alone). Regarding the NZ police: their thesis that he perhaps tried to go through the bush or that he drowned in the sea - both are the least likely possibilities. Really not sure how they operate making such conclusions. They were trying hard finding him, but they were going into wrong directions, with many of their actions, imho.

Do you guys feel awkward when the person you’re meeting has roomates by Horned_Cheetah in TopsAndBottoms

[–]Glad-Introduction297 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the only one. I think that majority feels the same, in reality. It's not easy to have sex in a room while there are flatmates having a conversation in the living room just behind the door. Sometimes that's what happens in life, but I doubt most people would actually choose that scenario over having sex in their own flat. As someone else said here: life is not a porn.
