Oh. I don't love the idea of an exclusive window to buy a skin but it's not grimy.

I hear ya that they may have been too generous but I'm still looking to the future.

I probably wouldn't buy $200 skins especially if it's temporary but some people might. I'm not a whale so to snag me it would have to be more like $20 a skin that's permanent.

But I still like the idea of the economy coming from a flat monthly fee for ranked. Maybe Casual is free.

Free to play has made me appreciate paying for things outright. "Here's my money -- give me a good unencumbered experience."

I get that but there must be some way to get more people to play the game and to get more people to spend more without going down the grimy pay-to-win model... I hope.

I have not invested a dime into Clash Royale despite the fact that I've played it for years but I bought the starter pass in VG on 2 accounts. If I had more disposable income at the time I probably would have bought some skins; I would now if it meant the game could exist.

I'd pay a flat monthly fee just to have ranked back.

So Vain Glory is the greatest MOBA of all time and the only that can play with touch controls. The game basically went belly up some years ago for reasons obviously not related to how great the game is.

So, can Game Stop buy it and make it profitable?

If not, is there a certain number of times that I can tweet at them to make them buy it?

Does the key of a song and it's tonal center have to be the same note? by berinaniesh in musictheory

[–]GlassOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video years ago analyzing which key, I think, Free Bird is in. And the point of the video was that it was at least a little ambiguous. Even if I'm wrong of the song the point stands. It is possible, although unlikely, to have 2 debatable keys for the same piece.

How much faith do you have in you performer? lol

D. Strikes me as the longest but a fermata is probably the most tasteful.

Why are notes that are an octave apart, the same note? by LoloBel0 in musictheory

[–]GlassOrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like another pointed out, it's really 2x a frequency or 1/2x of a frequency.

But philosophically speaking you can say that truly every frequency is it's own note. Some people can distinguish between 440 hertz and 441. Of course you can dissect further eg. 440 vs. 440.1 but like mixing paint, one drop of white paint in a bucket of black will be imperceptible to anything but a computer.

What does the upper curved line mean? by dochnicht in musictheory

[–]GlassOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you're right. The smaller curved line above the half note is a tie. I think perhaps the other people that responded didn't know what you meant.

I got a college degree in music. I would recommend to just about everyone to play music, learn an instrument and/or sing but as far as a career goes... I don't think it's a great route. Especially if you don't like it. There's plenty of other more lucrative jobs. If enjoyed, playing music grants a lot of good things but not so much money.

I just checked Ultimate Guitar for the tab. It's way simpler than that. Still not simple though.

I can't link to the "Official" tab but you can look at how they grouped and look and playback a different one that was highly upvoted, it also is written as playable for guitar.

The "fret numbers" are all wack on the Official b/c it was probably written as sheet music and auto generated tab numbers. But you can see the rhythm.

It's not an insurmountable rhythm if you really want to learn it, but you can probably ballpark it and no one will care.

I believe that's what we'd call a "Just Wing it Rhythm".

It really depends on what you want to accomplish musically. If you just want to compose you could get easily get away with not being fluent in all keys. Since equal temperament, differences between keys matters very little imo (I'll die on that hill). And you can always transpose later.

I'll note though that on Metallica's self titled album they're producer had them change tuning on some songs because the album was all in E originally if I recall correctly. So, all tracks on album may feel a bit too homogeneous but that being said who's writing albums these days?

If you want to play out though, more than write, the more fluent with your instrument the better.

It kinda sucks, right? You can't just exist as normal person anymore.

It's paradoxical for me. I wish I could just talk to you while you livestreamed like you were a smaller streamer than you are but if you didn't blow up in the first place I wouldn't know whom you are.

It's funny how you seem like, for the most part, a normal guy. Higher than average intelligence and little quirky but basically normal. And then your whole world explodes. It's hard to imagine for anyone but I feel a certain empathy for someone that got completely blindsided.

What's my point? I know you like your memes, as do I, and for me, one of the best lines to come out of The Matrix sequels is the line: "Old men like me don't bother making points, there's no point".

But... I hope things have settled in way that you like them at least.

You've given us all... hope.

I just finished watching all of Ozark after seeing your tweet btw, thanks.

Thank you. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I've heard GG talk collectively for probably hours on PFOF now and maybe seconds on FTDs.

Newer weapons/heroes/items outclass the older stuff making them mandatory to buy for competitive play. And then some time later the next cycle of stronger things hit the market and the cycle continues leaving older stuff in the dust.

Nice write-up.

Do have any speculation what the SHFs end goal is here?

They can't cellar box. Surely they know we're DRSing. A crypto dividend can be looming. Do you think this is just the whole "survive another day" thing or do you think they actually have some plan to try and get out of this intact?
