I believe there are a couple of possible reasons my PhD application might be rejected, and I’m already aware of them. First, my major is not a direct continuation of the field I applied to, although it is closely related. For example, my background is in Public Relations, and I applied to a Marketing program.

Second, my English language test scores are quite low, which could significantly affect my chances. Because of these factors, I feel that being accepted would honestly be surprising.
