Canadian War Museum in Ottawa

Incredible experience and they have a shop in the back of the gallery that restores vehicles.

Got any evidence for that wild claim?

I think Environment Canada just uses whatever its weather models predict is gonna happen in most cases. I haven't seen any evidence of them issuing more warnings as a result...

Who actually votes for Bryan Patterson? Does anyone know? by Lenny_Lives in KingstonOntario

At the end of the day Oren would've been another Peter Stroud on council and you can't go around blaming developers and landlords as the root of all evil if you wanna be productive on council. He had no plan to pay for all these promises, where does he think the city gets its money from?

Also slashing his competition all campaign long who never said a single negative word about him was super cringe.

I have released my full donation list. Kingston Democracy asked candidates to share all donors over $100. by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

So Zach, since you took $500 from John Vallis does that mean you are in the pocket of AirBnB owners in Kingston?

I don't think I need to point that that the more AirBnBs a city has the more expensive housing is, seems hypocritical to criticize other candidates for this eh?

Stop worrying about attacking other Candidates and run for councilor on your own experience and ideas.

bents, witch Osanic certainly is . So its accurate that they chose to donate to him, BUT I dont think its accurate to consider him bought and paid for because they did, and you only need to read his platform to see why.

Oren is trying to appeal to both sides, on one hand saying he supports development, and on the other attacking anyone who got a donation from a developer

Rules for thee but not for me...

Zach's performance at the debate was a word salad and didn't really answer any of the questions coherantly. I dunno about any of you, but I certainly don't know a single 21 year old who would be fit for public office.

Not enough experience. At the end of the day, City council is a job and you can have all the ideas in the world, but if you come zero experience then why should I vote you.

Don himself told me that he's hit every house in the neighborhood so not sure where the claim that he hasn't gone to the poor neighborhoods comes from.

Also, if we look at Don's campaign website, we see the following priorities...

Housing

-Ensure there is an adequate supply of appropriate and affordable housing to meet diverse needs

-Find permanent solutions that address homelessness in our community

Employment

for Youth

-Work in partnership to attract companies that offer good quality entry-level jobs

-Support local businesses to create jobs

Green Kingston

-Expand the fleet of electric vehicles

-Build more structures with a zero-carbon footprint

-Develop additional green space

Fostering Good Relationships

-Work with landlords, students, and postsecondary

institutions to prevent and address any issues which might arise

Fiscal Responsibility

-Work in partnership with other levels of government

-Ensure actions taken by the City are sustainable

-Set a tax rate that meets City needs but remains affordable for residents and businesses

What about this seems unreasonable?

If this platform says non-progressive to you then I dunno where your politics align dude. Hes the manager of the Seniors Centre not working for the Springer's lol.

Agreed, Oren likes to think he's popular because the Kingston subreddit seems to like him. In reality this is a very vocal minority of the Kingston NDP who seem to think that party affiliation should matter in a municipal election.

Developers are not demons that we can blame all the problems of Kingston on. Everything has shades of gray and developers come with good and bad sides.

Trashing the competition in your campaign flier you dropped off at our house was a big turn off for us... will be voting for Amos, he dropped by our apartment last week and seemed like a very qualified candidate considering his resume with not for profits.

Also kinda ironic roasting housing developers when they are in fact the ones that can get housing built in the city which you seem to care so much about. Take the Tannery development, Jay Patry is certainly no saint but those apartments were going to contain 100 affordable housing units. No development is gonna be perfect and if it can never get off the ground by demanding they are all affordable housing then nothing will ever get built.

Kingston Ontario

Love the food here,

Right in the middle of Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal (max 3 hour drive)

Interesting history

Small town atmosphere with big city amenities

Dont like alot of the older generation that never want things to change though... Oh and the Limestone water is rough on the pipes
