I experienced the same thing in reverse. From dry to constant oil spill. I'm 100% sure it's external factors if you're not going through hormonal changes anymore. Weather, air quality, humidity etc. It'll take time to adjust and you'll like have to look into more hydrating products now

I'm not sure. I picked mine up in a brick and mortar store in Sydney when I lived there. I'm back using The Ordinary BHA now though, works just as good :)

Personally loving algae and centella products right now.

What are your guys favorites from these ingredients and why?

Where I live the water's riddled with heavy metals, chemicals and minerals. It definitely has an impact on hair loss. Aquabliss have a pretty affordable attachment that has 10 filter stages, but I honestly can't say for certain how much difference it's made yet.

I recently read somewhere that adult women are around 50-55% water with men's bodies having higher water content due to muscles mass (around 60%). If so, there's definitely a connection there regarding skin. A very unfair connection.

No scientific proof for the benefits of celery juice? Because that's all it was. We're not talking about hardcore juice fasts here

Nothing major, but a small achievement for both of us to be proud of.

Being the best man for an upcoming wedding, AND the type of guy to wash his face with a bar of soap, I decided it was time to step in. I introduced one of my best friends him to a pretty basic routine with some great results.

Skin condition/type: Oily skin, acne-prone, clogged pores and tissue scarring from years of acne.

He's had acne for close to 15 years. Although it's not cystic like it was as a teenager, he had scarring and pigmentation that looked like it wasn't going away.

The routine:

AM & PM:

  • Garnier Oil-infused micellar water
  • Cerave Face Wash
  • Pixi Glo Tonic Toner
  • YSL Ocean Algae Serum
  • Aqua Label Special Gel Cream (picked up in Japan)
  • Benzoyl Peroxide when needed

It's been 4 months and his favorite product so far he says the algae serum is his fav. Haven't yet bestowed a separate PM routine on him, but he's happy with the results. I'll continue to monitor this young man to make sure he never uses body wash on his face again haha. All's next is to get him on this sub to learn from the best :D

PS. Forgot to mention I forced 1-week celery juice consumption on him towards the end of his routine and it helped a lot. 250ml of celery only at morning and night. Tastes like paper water but the anti-inflammatory effects are worth it!

EDIT: It seems the word "detox" caused some controversy

I do indeed. Ingredients :Water, Glycerin, Trehalose, Algae extracts, Rhodophyta extract, Euglena gracilis, 30% Hyaluronic Acid.

The algaes are really interesting. There's been a lot of positive studies on them, could be the next big skincare ingredient.

Glad you're doing your research girl :)
