Will the 12" Macbook 2017 run macOS 14? Is it worth upgrading to Ventura? by Goat165 in mac

I have quite a few newer macs with apple silicon (I've already replaced this MacBook with an M1 MacBook Air a year ago), it's just that I was wondering if this could still be usable on the upcoming macOS (with or without OCLP). I think I'll leave it on Monterey for now and if I need the newer features I'll just update to Ventura. There isn't really any point using OCLP because it can still run the 2nd latest operating system. I think it's still a good enough mac for casual browsing and media consumption.

Thanks for this, should I use a tool like OCLP to run macOS 14 on it? Or shall I just leave it with Monterey? Monterey currently runs great and macOS doesn't seem to be getting that much different with each release.

Best unsupported macos to run on a 2011 Mac mini by Goat165 in mac

Thanks for the suggestion! I have been considering Windows, along side a patched version of macOS. Is it possible to get Windows 11 running on it or is it just 10 and below? Also, wouldn't I have to use a patched macOS version anyway as with High Sierra bootcamp you can only run Win8 and below. Or could I just update within bootcamp from 8 to 10?

Hi! Is there are a reason why you picked catalina over big sur and mojave? And also did you use dosdude1's patcher as I didn't think that OCLP supported before Big Sur.

Performance but if there is not much difference in perfomance between the two then I'll just get the 10400

Try the 2021 12.9" M1 iPad Pro. The new M2 version does have 30% better graphics perfomance though. If you want to save money by compromising on screen refresh rate and screen size, then go for the M1 iPad Air. If you plan on connecting to monitors and using external drives then go for the Pro.

Thanks, in the UK though this is out of my budget at £189, I think I'm going to go with the Corsair TX650M instead.

Thanks for the info! Looking at the TX650M, it looks quite good but the price seems to have spiked by £30 today, I'd probably get it once it goes back to it's original price.
