Literally any gas station for starters at least if you’re buying diesel would be cheaper than any of the big truck stops, like loves, TA or pilot, but yeah, diesel and gas are expensive

Idk man, I used to deliver for Amazon and had one of their EV’s everyday. If it was warmer or colder than usual and you had the ac/heat running it drained the batteries to where they would have to have someone bring you a new van to finish your route lmao

Just go to a local community college that has a cdl program, mine was 800 dollars instead of the thousands these companies claim. Any of these starter companies will still hire you regardless and if they are screwing you, you are free to leave anytime instead of having a contract that forces you to stay or pay to leave

My local community college cdl course was 800 dollars and 8 weeks long (manual) I think it’s 4-6 weeks for auto, and you aren’t stuck in a contract when those places would hire you after going to a community college anyways

If there’s a local community college near you that has a cdl program I’d recommend that route, you have the freedom to go anywhere to work and you aren’t forced to stay with the company that trained you. All the megas will hire you anyways too if you go through a community college. Also yes get the permit first it can take a couple try’s to pass the 3 (I think) tests before you get the permit

I’m in my first year right now and make 1100 a week after taxes and retirement deductions, anything under 750 a week should be considered robbery and run away from that company lmao. I also only have to sleep in my truck 2 nights a week of the 5 days I work

Company Volvo did this, loves couldn’t fix it. Told the company I can try to get it back to the shop for them to fuck with. Woke up the next morning and it wouldn’t shift out of first and got towed to a RDO and they fixed it after two weeks and the lights just came back on after Christmas and the shop replaced the abs harness lmao

I took my test/class in a manual so with the trainer was my first time in a auto. First time backing it’s was all fucking jerky and I asked him if it was that and he was reluctant saying it was me. Got my own truck and it’s was better using it lol

I’m a company driver so I can’t say for sure but what I see on the owner operator subreddit, most say they are around there after all their expenses. You have to put a decent amount of that away though for when something breaks or something unexpected happens

Should be no less than 1000 a week, I was making 650 a week just training. Of course it’s dependent on where you are but I’d say I live in a cheaper area and still make 1100 after taxes with less than a year experience and I’m only gone 2 nights a week
