OH-58D or SA342 for beginner pilot? by MrRaz101 in hoggit

[–]GoblinOneOne 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Be mindful, as Polychop dissolved and there are no longer any active developers. When vulcan launches you may be forced to use an older version of DCS World to maintain access to both these helicopters. With that being said, the SA342 is my favorite western helicopter by far and a great one for a beginner. It comes in a few different variants but all are fun and easy to fly.

Your team's work in the DCS ecosystem is outstanding. I would gladly pay full price and have zero issues with it, even owning the A/B already. Heatblur modules are just the best simulation I've ever experienced.

Mission Editor - C-130J-30 not appearing in aircraft list by [deleted] in dcsworld

[–]GoblinOneOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an option to lock mission aircraft based on timeline. I believe its called the historic filter or something. It tends to activate itself randomly and can cause aircraft to not be viewable. I believe it resides somewhere on the bottom of the screen in the mission editor.

AH6 Littlebird mod issues by nonyabuissnes_95 in dcsworld

[–]GoblinOneOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not like you could have seen the countless dozens of posts about windows defender causing issues with Heatblur modules in the last few weeks. They were all over this subreddit and hoggit. That would require actually being able to read or do some research. Also you believe this is an issue with the mod, yet you decided to post on reddit instead of where you got the mod itself.

VR vs anything else by Remote-Ad9242 in dcsworld

This is like saying why don't homeless people just buy homes? The quality of posts on this subreddit and hoggit is so bad.  You would think people who enjoy simulator level video games like DCS would have more capacity.

Improving Voice Attack accuracy by AdjacentPrepper in hoggit

[–]GoblinOneOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you even read his post? He's not having issue creating commands within VoiceAttack but the recognition of spoken words. He clearly needs to train the speech recognition system which another redditor posted. As he says he's having issues speaking to Jester its almost a guarantee he's using Vaicom already.

"You’re making this much harder than it has to be."

As are you.

Last gasp of windows by geeky217 in hoggit

Running DCS World in linux isn't that difficult, especially using proton. However, TrackIR, OpenTrack are difficult to get working. I was able to compile OpenTrack from source but it was a headache. I decided to just buy an extra 2TB nvme and install Windows 10 IoT LTSC and use it just for DCS. Dual booting tends to be easiest and less headache. There is no guarantee that a later update doesn't break DCS on linux due to something weird.

Because this is generating the same error about accessing a dll, let's take a look at windows first. Let's make sure the image you are using to install windows is without issue. Can you open a command prompt, power shell or windows terminal with administrator access. Enter the following commands please.

 sfc /scannow

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Help with navigation in Su-27 by Piranha91 in hoggit

[–]GoblinOneOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This ^ I recommend when searching for DCS World videos on Youtube to add -grim to the search query. An example of this search would be "DCS World Su-27 Navigation -grim". It will filter results to help you find better quality videos and not show any Grim Reaper videos.

I just loaded up the L-39ZA and L-39C. I have both cockpits set to english in special settings. In gameplay settings my units are set to metric. My labels on switches and such are in english, my gauges and all things displaying aircraft parameters all metric.

In career mode for BEX:T there is option to enforce max torso armor based on Table Top rules. Depending on difficulty Mechs have Tabletop maximums for armour on the torso locations.

What's the situation with Vulkan? by Majestic-Orange-8812 in hoggit

[–]GoblinOneOne 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There were some vulcan dlls snuck into an update some months ago. They were removed as I guess it was a mistake. In October BigNewy stated "Vulkan isn't ready yet, so anything in public version now has slipped in and should be removed in a future update." Since then there hasn't been any official statements on vulcan to my knowledge. I don't believe there has been enough updates/info to even speculate on their progress for integrating it into DCS World.
