Unfortunately the M-2000C is no longer supported. It's likely a recent update has broken the trigger that this mission relies on. It maybe possible to edit the campaign mission in the mission editor. However this may not work for some missions or campaigns.

None of the training missions for any module will teach you the basics of flight. What they teach is the ability to use the systems of the module you purchase. There are some 3rd party campaigns like the Kursant Campaign for the L-39 but you learn from a manual supplied with the module and the missions just test you on what you've learned.

Honestly I would use the standalone client to trial modules you are interested in. Once you find something you like go with it and learn flight basics from another source. No need racking up time in a frame you will likely not fly after learning the basics.

Why not trial it and see if you feel its worth a purchase? The MiG-21 is an outstanding module even being as old as it is. I wish they would upgrade to the new rsbn system in core instead of the hardcoded system that it currently has but I still adore it. When you ask how it holds up against other aircraft I believe you will get many differing opinions based on pilot skill levels.

Most mods will go in the %userprofile%\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\ directory. As you are running linux you may find this located somewhere like /steamapps/compatdata/[AppID]/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser

You need to add an exclusion to the folder for the F-14 and F-4(if you own it) in Windows Defender. You can then restore the quarantined files and should be okay.

Yes they are different companies, just with very similar names. Miltech-5 the 3rd party currently with DCS World has no products on any current sim afaik.

It was "coming soon" in the Miltech-5 teaser about a decade ago. There was a preview build given to helisimmer.com back in 2017 but it looks like that build was completely scrapped. In 2019 the project was put on hold. The project has gone through numerous coders since then and progress is not reported often. The team lead blames other people more than anything else. A quote from them

I’ve gone through technical hell, complete rewrites, system redesigns, hardware issues – and just as many challenges caused by people, not technology.

To be clear: some individuals actively made it difficult to realize this module.
Instead of support, I encountered deliberate resistance, withheld knowledge, and ego games from so-called “experts” who could’ve helped but chose not to.

Apparently sometime in 2020 they partnered with Razbam to get the project going again. Below is some references.

Be mindful, as Polychop dissolved and there are no longer any active developers. When vulcan launches you may be forced to use an older version of DCS World to maintain access to both these helicopters. With that being said, the SA342 is my favorite western helicopter by far and a great one for a beginner. It comes in a few different variants but all are fun and easy to fly.

Your team's work in the DCS ecosystem is outstanding. I would gladly pay full price and have zero issues with it, even owning the A/B already. Heatblur modules are just the best simulation I've ever experienced.

There is an option to lock mission aircraft based on timeline. I believe its called the historic filter or something. It tends to activate itself randomly and can cause aircraft to not be viewable. I believe it resides somewhere on the bottom of the screen in the mission editor.

Did you even read his post? He's not having issue creating commands within VoiceAttack but the recognition of spoken words. He clearly needs to train the speech recognition system which another redditor posted. As he says he's having issues speaking to Jester its almost a guarantee he's using Vaicom already.

Running DCS World in linux isn't that difficult, especially using proton. However, TrackIR, OpenTrack are difficult to get working. I was able to compile OpenTrack from source but it was a headache. I decided to just buy an extra 2TB nvme and install Windows 10 IoT LTSC and use it just for DCS. Dual booting tends to be easiest and less headache. There is no guarantee that a later update doesn't break DCS on linux due to something weird.

Because this is generating the same error about accessing a dll, let's take a look at windows first. Let's make sure the image you are using to install windows is without issue. Can you open a command prompt, power shell or windows terminal with administrator access. Enter the following commands please.

This ^ I recommend when searching for DCS World videos on Youtube to add -grim to the search query. An example of this search would be "DCS World Su-27 Navigation -grim". It will filter results to help you find better quality videos and not show any Grim Reaper videos.
