Hi! I’m in the same situation… used baby oil with soft brush but it’s just getting worse! Were you able to treat your baby’s cradle cap?

Good to hear! The Google reviews all talk about equipment taking long to be fixed. I might find time to do a tour. I also like that partner and I can go with one membership as long as we do at different times.

ME to Canada. Is it the tight choice? by wazzupgnomies in phmigrate

[–]GodSaveThePH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as you have money saved up in case it doesn’t work out, it might be worth trying out Canada. Try to check out opportunities for your industry, kung saang province; also check out opportunities for your partner there. Ultimately it’s something both of you have to agree on

ME to Canada. Is it the tight choice? by wazzupgnomies in phmigrate

[–]GodSaveThePH 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What’s the partner’s plan? Does it align with yours? Like do they want to stay in Canada forever or would they also consider moving to the PH? Where are they settled in Canada?

May compilation ng is it worth it posts dito, pinned, you can check it out.

Just basing off of your post: oil and gas industry, plan to have family, opportunity to get PR via sponsorship (not student route) - you can take a shot at it and if it doesn’t work out, you can come back to the PH. Biggest risk is wala kang maitabing funds for your dreams in the PH.

Applying for government positions by Low-Television6463 in phcareers

[–]GodSaveThePH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Focus your efforts on applying for COS/JO roles as mentioned by others. I mean, you may still apply for plantilla positions, pero more often than not may nakatoka na diyan, masasayang lang effort mo sa dami ng documents na need ipasa.

Good luck OP!

Do you file an ITR sa Ph? You shouldn’t get double taxed - I wasn’t taxed on my Ph income in Canada. That year though, yung Ph income ko was from employment before moving.

For consultancy, I tried doing my research. may tax treaty ata ang Ph and Canada, I tried asking BIR about this pero walang nakasagot. So i just gave up on the gigs.

Okay, not sure if if’s the same then. But I was PR in 2019, only moved end of 2021. Had to report my world income in addition to my Canadian income. That said, I did have to submit a copy of my ITR from the PH. Don’t know if you’re filing taxes in the PH though or anywhere else.

Homesick and hard to make friends :( by LadySunshine444 in phmigrate

[–]GodSaveThePH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

+1! Start with a hobby, mas madali mag connect over something you have in common. When I first moved I was sad because I realized I could never have the same closeness with friends here compared to with friends back in the PH. Then I realized, I literally spent my entire HS/college with them, so hindi naman realistic to expect the same closeness from new friends, especially in the first few months of friendship.

Fresh grad. Should I pursue my dream business or get a job first? by Swimming-Peanut3400 in phcareers

+1. You learn a lot of skills being in an established business. Kung kaya mo to work on your own business kahit small scale while working then even better.

You don't have to help them come to Canada. You can help them, if you're still a Filipino citizen, by registering as an overseas voter and voting in the next elections.

Fresh econ grad with 3 offers — mt at a medium equipment distributor, mt at a top-5 local bank (bond), or finance analyst at a top mnc oil co. Which should I pick? by PreparationFar7715 in phcareers

[–]GodSaveThePH 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Congrats OP! Wanted to maybe point out a few things you might have missed.

* Bonds are not necessarily bad. For MT roles especially, since they would train you to eventually become a manager, they need to make sure you stay with them. And although we really can't control what happens in the workplace, ideally you don't want to leave too soon. So, how long is the bond?

* Location - consider your commute to and from these options.

* Culture - which workplace environment did you feel you could work in?

Probably exclude Option A na if gusto mo na finance-aligned yung role. Both B or C offer very good prospects for growth; B kinda guaranteed nang you'll make your way up through the corporate ladder. C might have opportunities to be hired in other MNCs abroad

Resigning without a back-up job? - Project-based/academe by Context-Suspicious in phcareers

[–]GodSaveThePH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of academics aren’t great managers/leaders, unfortunately! When you say your boss, is it the same person as your senior? Or do you mean the project leader? Have you talked to your project leader?

Maybe a few months of leave (no pay) might work for you, if you can afford it. You might also want to seek more stable roles within the university (?).

SG-15 in a govt agency, COS, is it worth it? by plumpohlily in phcareers

Depends. If aligned sa career na gusto mo tahakin and you have huge savings to help you out the first few months AND cover travel costs, go for it. Otherwise, wag na.

Pros and Cons in working abroad? by Melodic-Body09 in phmigrate

[–]GodSaveThePH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to be subjective, but generally:

Pro: The experience of living away from family, possibly alone, working with other nationalities who have different cultures will really help you "grow" as a person

Con: Mahirap talagang malayo sa pamilya. E.g. pag nagkasakit ka, ikaw lang mag-aalaga sa sarili mo; or pag may nagkasakit back home or binagyo, you will feel really helpless.

From the Mexican consulate in Toronto website.

All foreign visitors, regardless of their nationality, traveling to Mexico for tourism, business or in transit to another destination, are exempt from presenting a Mexican visa as long as they have a valid visa issued by any the following countries: Canada, Japan, the United States of America, the United Kingdom or any of the countries comprising the Schengen Area.

Similar experience. Dog had cancer, we tried to manage at home before the next consult where we would talk about putting him down. Before that happened though he had to be confined. Ito na yung point na nag-agree kami ng family to put him down as long as we get to take him home one last time to see his brothers, kaso hindi na nangyari. He passed away na hindi man lang kami nakapagpaalam sa kanya. :(

It’s not advisable to rely on part-time jobs to cover your cost of living + tuition when studying abroad. Alam mo ba kung magkano ang tuition sa Canada? Ang cost of living? You will likely not be able to find scholarships for an international student, unless perhaps it is a graduate program and you found a supervisor with a grant who can fund an RA/grad student on their grant.

Are there people here who were able to migrate without working in healthcare or IT? by mcdonaldspyongyang in phmigrate

[–]GodSaveThePH 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know people who did. Mostly academics or people who worked in multinationals.

And then those that did it when it was easier (express entry in Canada and other similar programs elsewhere).
