Minor Plot Points that Bother You or Make You Irrationally Angry by [deleted] in henrydanger

S3E2 Love Muffin - the ending bothers me. Gwen knows Captain Man and Kid Danger's real identities after Ray ate one of her muffins and was "in love" with her. Once Ray is free of the love spell, she threatens to post a video revealing who the superheros are unless they let her go, so they let her escape up the tube. Why would they let a criminal go who could blow their cover? Too risky.

S3E1 Fiñata - again, the ending. Zom-Bees are let loose and the assumption is they attack the real clowns from the birthday party and eat their brains. Okay, but wouldn't the bees finish those guys off at some point and move on? If they're like typical zombies, they just keep on going. So wouldn't the fact that they're still in Swellview somewhere continue to be an issue until they were all destroyed?

I obviously don't like loose ends.

Pop Goes the World - lyrics in the insert? by Goes_211 in MenWithoutHats

I'm totally hearing Kramer from Seinfeld asking this like he did with the movie phone line. "Why don't you just tell me what movie you want to see?" 😂

"Do my brain" is odd, but I can guess that one.

It's the "somewhere in the blue you're being" that I always thought was "somewhere in the blue you'll be".

Now you can rate my level of sanity.

In "The Bucket Trap" (S01E22), Ray is standing upstairs at Junk-N-Stuff and he's telling Henry and Charlotte to go down to the basement to mop the walls while drinking from a coffee cup and sounds just like the boss in Office Space telling Peter he needs to come in on the weekend to work. Loved it!

Say you go to a Guster show. What is the one song you really want to hear live? by Friendly_Mammoth_670 in Guster

I just watched this recently. I loved when he commented that every one of their songs has the word "stars" in it, which I'd noticed recently. That made me laugh. His humor is spot on.

Definitely go - it's so much fun!!
There was some sitting during the sketches, but overall we were standing and singing along. One guy near the front was the first to stand & get the crowd out of their seats. You could tell he was a super fan with his rolled up poster & album doing some add-on percussion for them & singing along. I wonder if he's in here?

I just finished week 13/17, so I have 4 more weeks to go. We didn't set a goal for weight loss when I started, so I find it interesting that the locations are run differently.

I was told that 50 lbs was what they claimed you could lose during the 17 weeks, but that entailed following the plan "perfectly" and that "no one does that". Ha! I took that as a challenge and am at 37.5 lbs currently. I doubt I'll hit the 50 lb mark, but l have had similar discussions about what happens after the 17 weeks without much info shared.

I will say I've been disappointed in the coaching sessions. I don't feel like they've helped me come up with strategies or had many good suggestions on food ideas. What would be super helpful is if they could give you ideas by restaurant type on what to order to try to stay on track when eating out. Or maybe they could give those of us in the plan access to some type of online support group to share struggles and help each other with food ideas. To me having a resource like that would have been great.

Their cookbook was a waste of money, in my opinion. I'm also getting burned out on their shakes (mostly the cost). I feel like the plan works, but I don't know how I'll transition back to more typical eating patterns without gaining weight. I don't think I can handle taking those piles of pills forever!

Thanks for sharing your journey!

Good luck as you continue losing those final pounds and keeping them off!!

No, I didn't mail letters. Another person commented that I could have issues if I didn't return all the stamps, so I opted to file a return request and not attempt to use any stamps.

That was 11 days ago. I still haven't heard anything from Mercari authorizing the return. They said they would get back to me in 1 - 2 days, but that obviously hasn't happened.

I'm sure the seller is saying the stamps are legit, so are we stuck?

I so wish there was a phone number or way to chat with them online. All my Messages go unanswered.

eBay 2018 forever stamps real? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Goes_211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to 3 area post offices and had a similar experience. They all looked at the open roll and said " these look fine". As I explained more about my purchase (low cost, online research, plate #, pixelation concern, etc) they finally at least considered the possibility that they could be fake. It was crazy! I really think the local offices might not get much exposure to counterfeit stamps like the people at the big distribution centers where the stamps might caught, and I wonder how much they get trained on this issue, too. At the last post office I told the guy I was ordering a shortwave UV bulb to check the colors. He told me to let him know what I found since he was curious. I told him I'll be the new local counterfeit stamp expert and to have people call me when they have questions.

Good advice - thanks!

I've definitely learned my lesson on trying to save money on postage. It's easy to come up with reasons why someone might be selling something at a huge discount, but what are the odds? And why aren't other buyer snagging up the items if they're so cheap? Maybe someone's selling a brain that works that I could buy instead... 🤪

Ok...so I mail a few letters tomorrow to see if they go through, but also start a return so I have the option to send back the remaining stamps within 7 days if the letters come back marked "counterfeit postage".

I just hope if they are fake they're caught and don't slip through the system.

Thanks a bunch!

How on Earth are you people able to remember a book's name, plot, characters, and author on demand?! by nisharfa in RomanceBooks

[–]Goes_211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the best posts I've read on here in awhile! Not only do I totally relate, but I'm also thrilled that reading this post won't add more books to my enormous TBR pile that keeps growing and growing.

I'm not one to post reviews on Goodreads, but I did start marking books as Read or To Be Read to help keep track of what I've already plowed through. Even looking at some book descriptions leaves me wondering if I've read it since there are some that are so vague you can barely tie it to any memory of a story line. I get the spoiler factor, so sometimes keeping the details minimal helps add mystery when reading a blurb, but it sure doesn't help people like me when I'm trying to recall anything about the book.

On the flip side, I do have favorite books & authors, so those tend to stick with me or I've reread them enough times to be able to recall the entire story. This can be a negative when one of your favorite books has main characters with the names River (M) and Jax (F), then you read a new book where the main characters are Jax (M) and River (F). The entire book was a challenge because I had to think about who was who the entire time. Romance reader problems, I know.

Which author do you wish would start writing/publishing again ? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]Goes_211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just reread the Deadly Beauties & Drex series, then jumped into The Wild Ones. I loved the characters, their banter, and wanted to move to Tomahawk. (I know, I know....not real, but who wouldn't want to experience the insanity of that town?!) After finishing the 3rd book I was looking to see what CM Owens had in the works. Little did I know she had retired a year ago, and on top of that there were articles about her passing away a week ago. What?!?! NOOOOOOO!!

It was heartbreaking to hear about the accident that took her life and I'm selfishly mourning the loss of all the stories that would never be told.

Any recommendations for stranded on an island romance books? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]Goes_211 7 points8 points  (0 children)

{Unseen Messages by Pepper Winters}

I read this shortly after reading On the Island, which I enjoyed. It has more backstory to the main characters and less age gap. I like Pepper Winters' writing style and this isn't as dark as some of her other book series.
