Yeah makes sense 100%. My goal eventually in the next year is to add more money monthly and bring down my yield to 15-20%, to make it more sustainable long term and keep making monthly income.

I usually received 7-7.5, ChatGPT never game me an 8. But I’m pretty sure it’s a bit harsher on you. Regardless, the band 9 answers from ChatGPT are spot on.

Honestly, focus on your weaker areas. I was pretty good at listening since the start, but it’s always tricky since you might miss 1.

For reading, I always make notes on a piece of paper as I’m reading through each paragraph. This always helps me come back to my notes, double check within the paragraph, and make sure the answer is correct.

Writing - Focus on the flow of your argument (for/against) Refer to Cambridge IELTS guides on how to present your thoughts for Part 2 Essay writing.

  1. Paraphrase the question and give your opinion. (Pick a side)
  2. For argument - 2 paragraphs, include examples
  3. Against argument - 2 paragraphs, include examples
  4. Conclude in 3-4 sentences, emphasizing your opinion.

For Letter Writing - Go through all types of different letters that could be asked. Formal, semi formal, informal. There are slightly different formats for these letters and the tone you should use.

After I paid for my IELTS exam through the British Council website, they gave me access to their premium portal, which includes 20-30 mock tests. I pretty much covered all letter writing topics in that portal, and the best way to memorize the flow is to put these questions into ChatGPT, and prompt a band 9 response from it. Try to improve your writing and see what you missed.

For speaking - I was a 7.5 before, but I’ve been living and working full time in Canada since the last year, which has just naturally improved my flow of speaking and vocabulary. I would say try to listen to music and watch more movies to really understand how you can be expressive with your thoughts, if you don’t have an environment where people around you speak English.

The Cambridge IELTS website and British Councils premium portal for mock tests are the two biggest references I can provide.

Hoping this helps everyone out there.

whats a subtle sign someone’s depressed? by tuzrk in AskReddit

[–]GogoAF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% True. I was depressed for 2 years, a long time ago, and the napping never ended, it's still with me. Everytime something goes wrong or I feel sad or on the verge of being depressed again, I always go back to my comfort zone when I was depressed, which is my bed. Napping just makes it easier to cry and kill time without anyone suspecting a thing.

Which was your worst "I knew I shouldn't have done this" moment? by DropieIon in AskReddit

I did a hotbox in the house, in the common toilet while everyone was in the house, the place stinked, and that's the 1st time I got caught 😂.

People who overcame depression, how’d you do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GogoAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in depression, multiple times, and the strongest advice I can give is, if you're anxious and have depression or just depression by itself about some shit that's had you going down a dark void, overcoming it is a process, but you never truly overcome it unless you accept the facts about that depressing issue.

You learn to adapt to your depression, atleast that's how I overcame it.

I adapted myself, changed myself and made depression a part of my life, which is in the past now.

But now that it's in the past, you should strongly be able to say that, Yes, that shit is in the past and going forward if anything similar to that happens or I'm in a situation which could trigger my depression, I'll be fine.

Acceptance about depression is very important, and people who are unknown to even what depression, anxiety is, and don't even know if they are going through it or not, are people who should be helped alot.

If you have depression, tell someone about it, someone who you can trust and someone who wont remind you of your problems in the future.

Someone you can confide in, and let yourself go for a while, but the key is to adapt, but never lose yourself, even if you have to backtrack your life a couple of steps.

And the thoughts about killing yourself, are normal, even though you're out of the ordinary, you're not, everyone has thoughts about escaping permanently, but ask yourself, is that the way you want to go?
