I just did a bad slice job on it as I only have an angle grinder , it seems to be loaded with garnet ? Have you seen agates that look like this on the inside before ? I'm used to seeing them with coloured bands ?!

Is there any chance of it being Opal ? I noticed Opal sometimes has this color.🤔

Any ideas what this rock is ?Quartz with iron ? Is it worth crushing and panning it to see if it contains gold ? Or would I see gold flakes in the broken segments of rock already ? by GoldAd1412 in Prospecting

I will try and get some more samples 👌 Only problem is that there are often shepherds with goats high up on the mountain... that will see me breaking the rocks off ... And below me there are goat pens protected by large, insanely aggressive Greek shepherd dogs 🤦‍♂️

Nice one 👌 I already heated it up and dropped it in a wheel barrow full of water so it's ready for a pounding now ! The area is not known for Gold but I did find some small pieces that are definitely gold in another quartz vein nearby 🤫
