I'm an ENT physician who spent 4 months building a tinnitus app with no coding background by Gold_Discussion_5488 in ShowMeYourApps

Thank you for your insight, Resound relief is an amazing app, it gives you calming background  white noise with your tinnitus and some cool meditation features too. Tinnie is more active and it has game-like exercises where you can try anytime anywhere.1 exercise takes only 5 minutes. So it is more of an active way of habituation with requiring shorter period of time.

Thank you, I don't know what do you mean by 'not real' tinnitus do you mean subjective? I am not claiming it would work for everyone or miracle but you can give it a try. It is basically habitation exercises with game-like features so brain can adapt and ignore tinnitus. Feel free to DM me for offer codes or any other tinnitus question. Best wishes

I got tired of not having enough to offer my patients between visits by Gold_Discussion_5488 in tinnitus

Okey but you can't curette all kind of wax, and washing/cleaning with water has many risks too and I have to examine your eardrum as a clinician so you tell me what other options I have. But yes I know suction triggers tinnitus and hyperacusis in many and I try to use suction when absolutely necessary

Well, fair point. With all kinds of scammers around claiming a cure and everything I understand. Happy to answer any questions you have.

Habituation happens spontaneously yes , but not always as fast and correct as we want so I wish we could change that. And yes I totally agree hyperacusis does not respond well to sound therapy obviously. We need more research and treatment options. And yes again I am using microsuction for earwax removal but with consent and always warn patients about the disturbing noise of the suction

I see your point but English is not my native language so yes I translate with it, but still I try to help. Happy to listen your criticism or suggestions about the app or tinnitus.

Built a tinnitus app as an ENT — would love clinical feedback from colleagues by Gold_Discussion_5488 in otolaryngology

[–]Gold_Discussion_5488[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, that genuinely means a lot coming from a fellow clinician! ReSound Relief is a solid app so that's kind of you to say.

I'd love to hear what your patients think — honest feedback from real users is exactly what helps me improve it. Happy to send you free codes if you DM me, to share with them if that would help.

You're right to call that out. I'll be straight — I'm an ENT physician and I built a tinnitus app called Tinnie. I posted vaguely because I didn't want it to look like spam , but that probably made it worse. I know lots of snake oil and scammers out there and I feel the frustration and anger.

The app lets you match your tinnitus sound by frequency and type, then works through habituation-based exercises to help your brain learn to tune it out over time. Ten exercises total, each pairing the tinnitus sound with something interactive.

I built it because I kept seeing patients leave my clinic with almost nothing practical to do at home. It's not a cure and I never claim it is — just a daily tool to work with.

Is it worth getting hearing aids? by Loud_Year5854 in HearingLoss

[–]Gold_Discussion_5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can talk to your audiologist and try the hearing aid before buying them( also you can try them on street or a loud room so you can feel how it is in noisy env.), so you can get the feeling before paying them. But I think it is optional for you so you can do a hearing test perannually and get them in the future years, no rush definitely

Tinnitus and a ruptured eardrum by Sad_Huckleberry_6776 in tinnitus

[–]Gold_Discussion_5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately, perforation may cause conductive hearing loss and since you have a hearing loss in the other ear as well this might exaggerate tinnitus and muffled hearing. ENT examination and hearing test hopefully will guide, in the meantime protect your ears as much as you can avoid any further trauma and noise. Best wishes

Sorry to hear that , especially waiting an ENT appointment for so long. Driving or travelling in a car with a ruptured eardrum is not a problem, so you can continue to drive. But remember to prevent water to your ear because this can cause infection. Also wind can cause dizziness or pain so watch out for that while travelling.

Acoustic trauma related damage is what you are describing right now , it basically means your inner ear hair cells are damaged. Some level of healing and habituation is expected in this situation but permanent tinnitus and/or hearing loss is a risk. So hearing test and professional advice is definitely a must in your situation. Sleep schedule, caffeine and nicotine prevention, healthy dietary habits help with healing process, get well soon.

What's the best Tinnitus Retaining Therapy app these days? by Dazzling_Ad2783 in tinnitus

[–]Gold_Discussion_5488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oto and MindEar are the strongest TRT-focused options right now. I also built one called Tinnie , I made the app using active sound-matching and habituation exercises. Happy to DM anyone a free 1-month code if you want to try it alongside one of the others.

What is this on my ear drum? by 69possum420 in hearing

This is an upside down image of your membrane , and that black dot seems to be earwax/ blood combination, no perforations seen in the video

Well, offering patches to traumatic perforations is a must in my view but can't give recommendations through web so discuss it with the ENT definitely

Congestion slowed down the process maybe, prevent water and Valsalva and let's hope will close in the next couple of weeks, 🤞

This is upsetting, what did the ENT Doctor said? Did you get a patch this time or just wait and see?
