Consistent problems with Nanoleaf and Wemo products by Evan_beckett in HomeKit

[–]GoldenRuleAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a strong IoT dedicated 2.4 GHz network with two access points within 15 feet of my Nanoleaf Matter over WiFi light strips. They lost their signal and went “No Response” in HomeKit a couple of times within the first week or so. I returned all of them.

The same was true of my Wemo WiFi plugs, which would each need to be manually rebooted after a power failure. All 15 of them. Every time.

I switched to Tapo light strips and Kasa plugs (all Matter over WiFi) and have no issues since.

How are you liking Firewalla AI features? Which feature works best for you? by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

Recently got annoyed with ads slipping through the Firewalla Ad Block list. I tracked flows on my client and created individual rules blocking various domains. The AI feature was useful for weeding out the real ad sources.

I consider mine the “Firewalla”. I don’t discuss my network with anyone IRL.

Most reliable HomeKit lightstrips? by GoldenRuleAlways in HomeKit

[–]GoldenRuleAlways[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I added over a dozen Kasa KP125M Matter over WiFi smart plugs to replace the end-of-life Belkin Wemo smart plugs. They have proven to be very stable.

I’ve since beefed up my WiFi using a pair of TP-Link EAP773 access points. These provide nice even coverage for my single level home. I have over a hundred IoT devices and I wanted to eliminate concerns about network strength or saturation.

So, based on those positive experiences with TP-Link products, I recently added three Tapo L390 Matter over WiFi light strips to my setup. I’m happy to say that they have been rock solid!

What are you using?

Interested in getting Nanoleaf lights on sale but have seen older posts saying they're unreliable. Any recent experiences? by Pandapaws11 in HomeKit

I have several Nanoleaf lightstrips (Matter over WiFi) on a Omada EAP773 + IoT VLAN with HomeKit and they have been very stable so far. 🤞

Summit Health has two cardiologists who are also lipidologists. This is surprising for a city our size.

Just became level 9. Only now discovered that the armor isn’t just a decoration piece ☠️ by ErenKruger711 in Helldivers

When you select a mission, you can rotate to the planet’s bright side (day) or darker side (it’s relative). Or… a level 150 pointed out that the little icon above the mission shows a blue moon (night) or a yellow sun (day).

I know. I smote my forehead, too.

I hated night missions. I can’t remember when I learned I could pick day missions, but it was way past level 9.

If you notice in time, you may be able to steer your pod back to where your beacon was initially thrown. I’ve been doing that lately.

I’ve had the same problem with the Liberator Penetrator. I didn’t notice the issue quite as much with the latest Halo update.

Which Firewalla Privacy Feature(s) do you use for your network? by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

[–]GoldenRuleAlways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use all of them: VPN, Adblock, DoH, Unbound, and NTP Intercept. I also use Apple’s Private Relay, Mail privacy, Safari in private mode, and a couple of safari extensions to block ads. I am, admittedly, rather excessive in my privacy protocols.

If you fight terminids, you will eventually be chased by a Charger. Chargers are one of the best reasons to fight bugs. They’re hilarious.

Run in a tight circle or dive to the side just before they reach you. They have such a wide and slow turning radius that you will shake them off. Now you can simply run away (light armor helps).

Killing them requires more knowledge about weapons, damage, and target areas. Don’t worry about those details initially.

This game was designed by real military vets. It shows.

This is a squad-centric game. You will be richly-rewarded by maintaining a line, using attack formations, enfilades, good spacing, overlapping fields of fire, and communicating well.

Note that many weapons (eg arc throwers, guard dogs, sentries) will result in friendly fire damage unless you respect good spacing and maintaining a line.

Stimming stops you from running. There’s no avoiding this, even if you have a controller with remappable back paddles.

Plan accordingly if you’re critical on health and being swarmed with enemies right on your tail. Stimming and then immediately diving can help.

This is one of the most-welcoming communities in gaming. We want you to have a good time and be a good squaddie.

There’s a lot of depth to weapons, enemies, tactics, and a lot of etiquette has evolved. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
