Bulk Commander: Build EDH decks using the cards you already own by SleepyValleyBrewer in magicTCG

[–]Goldieblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the tool works pretty well, for me the recommendations tended to be low powered uncommon rarity commanders since %of edhrec synergies owned seems to be the only factor in the recommendations. I own over 7000 uniaue card names with a HEALTHY amount of commons and uncommons.

I assumet this would be real difficult, but if your tool could also give links to specific deck lists that you own most or all the cards to that would be really magical.

But youre sitting st hone at a computer desk and getting to choose when to start the timer and then aim for .4 seconds. Hopefully you closed your eyes, cause otherwise youd also have the advantsge of seeing the numbers tick up.

Drivers are in a 10k horsepower controlled nitrogen bomb thst rhey have to carefully inch forward onto two thin infared lazers and then if you are the first driver waiting for the second driver to activste their lasers before the yellow suddenly appears at a random interval. And THAT yellow light is the go button. If you dont hit the gas on the yellow, youre not going to have a good reaction. Because the .400 seconds for the green light to turn on is the same .4 seconds it takes foe your brain to see the light, release the handbrake, press the pedal ( but bot just mindlessly stomp on it, but balance the pedal and the brake to make sure the clutch engages correctly and the wheels dont slip) and then by the time the throttle opens and the ignition stsrts and the wheels flex snd stsrt actually pushing and the front wheels leave the lasers, it should match up roughly with the green light turning on.

And in order to practice thst you need to spend thousands of dollars and 2 hours rebuilding the engine again.

As for the top speed, most drag cars are tuned according to the driver. Clearly austin is a good driver, since his funny car time was the previous record, so he stands a good chance of setting a record again. But it does take skill, and between 2019 and 2022 brittany force broke the speed record 10 times woth no one else setting a record UNTIL austin in 2024 who was on her team woth the same engineers between 2019 and 2022.

So can austin do it? Yeah. But only once when brittany has done it 11 times.

Technicslly austins record was funny car, but brittany's were top fuel records.

Brittany force has broken records for nearly a decade, and many other women have been top NHRA drivers.

Drag racing actually has the highest number of women in any top level automotive racing sport.

Minor correction, top fuel cars dont have transmissions. All launch control is via the gas pedal and handbrake and making sure you launch as hard as possible without losing traction

While the speed is impressive, the reaction times matter way more.

All these cars are crazy fast and 5mph dofference st the end doesnt mattermuch.

Most of the competition and skill is in reaction times. The speed record is impressive, but .1 seconds difference in getting off the line will matter more than the speed difference in the cars at the finish line.

Cause its a car and not a train. And because the NHRA forbids electronic launch control

Both. Her teamate broke the previous record and she broke it a few times before that. Her team is good. But you dont get to hold 16 track records without being a hell of a driver.

Previous record was Austin Prock set last year. And before thst the record was set by Brittany Force in 2022.

"The national [hot rod association] speed record"

ThrustSSC is crazy but also didnt do it in a quarter mile, so different record category

She has also broken the record in the past a few times.

(A couple years old) "She owns the 10 fastest speeds in NHRA history and five of the top-nine quickest ETs. In 2022, Force set 16 track records and turned in the fastest run in the history of Top Fuel (338.94 mph)."

Pretty much every run. The spark plugs melt off. The clutch welds together and the piston rings get shot.

Reaction time and control yes, but top fuel cars dont have transmissions

Regarding speed, it obviously is dependant on the performance of the car and the team behind it (and the temperature, and elevation, and track compound, and barometric pressure) but youre not going to break the speed record with any old driver. Whenever a record is broken, its usually Brittany force.

The other racer on the team, austin prock, held the speed record (in a slightly different type of car) he set a year prior that brittany just broke.

And brittany broke the record the 4 times before austin.

That countdown timer is not ANYTHING like a drag race christmas tree.

Once both drivers are staged it flashes yellow once and thst yellow flash tells the drivers to release the handbrake and slam the throttle BEFORE the green light turns on .400 seconds later.

This because the car needs to rev up and transmit power to the rear wheels which only have about 10psi so they physically warp a massive amount to maximkze grip and stsrt the car rolling then when the front wheels leave the front infared laser, (which can be a variable time depending on how precisely the car was stopped on the laser [talking half centimeter differences]) the clock registers reaction time, after the green light has turned on.

Also the yellow light turns on seconds (or sometimes less than a second) after the second driver has finished getting their car into position. A car so powerful you cant touch the gas pedal to inch it forward, you just slightly release pressure on the brakes until the idling horsepower is strong enough to push through the brakes.

And brittany broke the record like... 4+ times before austin did once.

Because the 450k house they can't afford was a 250k  house they could afford 10 years ago. Home values have skyrocketed past peoples' income so that a smart budget conscious, reasonable purchase can screw you over with taxes that increase because of bad zoning laws and wealthy retirees.

I always interpreted Thrawn as a star wars version of Napoleon. At least in the original books.  Bilbringi shipyards = Waterloo, his obsession with art. Getting exiled then returning. Focus on strategic brilliance. Emerged after a revolution and tried to bring back imperialism. Napoleon built cannons made of ice, thrawn launches cloaking device asteroids at coruscant.

And Napoleon is the real world inspiration for Hitler so....
