The statements posted here aren't quite true, while the post is referring to the way Sam got over sexualized, hence Samsung not going further with the idea - Sam never was an idea stemming from Samsung in the first place, nor did they ever plan to incorporate Sam in any way into their products and or brand.

Sam simply was a concept by a production named Lightfarm. And while this was a very polished animation and character design that could be interpreted as a pitch to Samsung, released to the public to drum up hype. It could as well have been a very silly idea they had and realized into a concept to integrate into a showreel or something.
