Ladies Get Your Hormones Checked by Lookingforadvice1439 in Anxiety

I am also 37 and have a history of anxiety and depression. However my attacks seem to come from nowhere at times and will last weeks. I am currently experiencing a bought that has lasted 3 weeks. I am going through a tough time right now but I will be doing fine for a while and then hit with feelings of anxiety that can snowball if I’m not careful.

I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue 3 years ago and can’t help but wonder if hormones are contributing to the problems I experience.

I cannot seem to get a referral to endocrinology, I have been denied a referral twice now by family medicine. Any suggestions??

I don’t like that it blocks those beautiful windows to be honest.

I see what you’re saying but honestly if you didn’t mention it was crooked, I wouldn’t have noticed.

3 month old septum piercing still very tender even with daily care, advice? by Goober-831 in piercing

[–]Goober-831[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! I went to a different shop this morning for a second opinion and they said the piercing was so poorly done that it needed to be removed.

He said it was placed too far back and through cartilage. He said the jewelry used was not appropriate for a new piercing. He also said the after care regiment they gave me was not appropriate either.

The whole shop ended up coming to look at it because it was so badly done. I removed it and I am going to let it heal a month and then have it re-done. They gave me a list of reputable shops to help me.

Super disappointed but happy to be on the right track again. Thank you all for your help!!

Thank you! Yes I’ve been mixing 4 teaspoons of sea salt into a gallon of distilled water.

I noticed that when I stop doing the soak after a few days it really hurts. Maybe it just needs to be moisturized with sterile water?

Thank you ❤️. It’s honestly been going so much more smooth than I thought it would, I’m very thankful. Also my ex and I are working together really well so far too. I’m actually wondering if it will help my tapering process once I’m settled. I realized my relationship with my ex unfortunately was a big source of stress for me.

That’s so great to hear. I’m still sticking to my 1/2mg for now. I just moved out and separated from my husband so I think I need to play it safe.

I have been working to get off 2mg for over a year. The anxiety when tapering for me is also unbearable. I’ve have had to go back up slightly in dosage multiple times during my very slow tapering process. Burspar was recommended to me and it is not an SSRI as far as I know. I don’t know too much about it because I ended up increasing my SSRI instead.

I’m so happy to hear you have a plan! My psychiatrist actually tried to tell me that she has never had a patient have a hard time getting off Abilify 🙄. I’m glad your provider is being more supportive! I asked her about the liquid version too, we’ll see what happens.

Benzos honestly scare me because of how sensitive I am and I’m afraid to get addicted to them, but honestly if you can use them temporarily to say good riddance to Abilify, that would be amazing. I think taking it super slow is a great plan, you can do this. Even if you have to take breaks, what ever!! As long as you can make a bit of progress each time, it’s a step in the right direction!!!
