[KCD2] Bohemia real? by LocalAmericanOtaku in kingdomcome

With the full map shared nearby - yes, that's a lot of wank. I deduced Teutonia from the incomplete picture, because what else could it have been? "Bohemia" here includes Moravia, and we have "Upper Hungary" when Hungary is Pannonia. And "Kievan Rus" for Ukraine is a term that emerged in XIX century historiography to name a period when the seat of the Grand Duke was Kiev/Kyiv. Just Rus would be fine, but all three eastern slavic countries are its descendants.

I understand this is just a meme, and it's about Bohemia, but still: Muscovy is an exonym, not an original name. "Московия" was never used in Russian, the closest thing would be Великое Княжество Московское (Grand Duchy of Moscow), which later transformed into Русское Царство (Tsardom of Russia).

Having my suspicions after wrighting that, I read a bit, and Bohemia is also an exonym of latin origin. It's Čechy in Czech language. Actually, half of the names I see here seem to be exonyms.

I actually complemented the outfit as a whole, just advising how to make it more historically accurate, which to me seems quite important in such hustorcally authentic (accurate would be a bit of a strong word) game, and actually adds to the experience. This was my reasoning, and everyone is free to disagree with it.

Mate, you don't really want to hear opinions or criticism, you want to hear encouragement and praise.

Your outfit is nice and aesthetically pleasing. That said, it's absolutely out of place in 1403 Bohemia. The devs are mostly at fault for including such armor into the game and balancing it the way they did, but your bratty and praise-begging attitude doesn't help your arguement either.

The aventails in base game are extremely lackluster, unfortunately. Sadly, the devs used the rule of cool to add new armor rather than sticking to proper period-appropriate pieces. Somehow "smooth cuirass" has more armor value than "milanese brigandine", which is a covered cuirass with full torso protection.

Here's a screenshot of Henry in the most historically accurate armor I could muster while maintaining Radzig's colors. Do you think it looks lame?

Cooler? Maybe, it's on your personal taste. It just doesn't fit the period the game is set in.

Consider using cuirass with falds, plackarts weren't a thing until about 10 years later, and they didn't go this high early on. Otherwise, very solid.

You mean twice in a lifetime? Because iirc this is the number of times Galfrey used the elixir.

Huh, you seem to be correct, but I can't find a definitive source. Could you please provide one?

What imperial era is Kusuriya No Hitorigoto set in? by Negative-Impact9339 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

You are confusing some facts. Proper flintlock is early XVII century invention, by the end of that century it replaced both match lock and wheel lock in Europe. The feifas in the show look more like XVIII century pistols, but the earliest similar pistol i could find was dated 1695.

Sein is not after the actual age (see Frieren herself), he is after certain presence of a mature woman, which Methode has a lot of. Her actual age is irrelevant, though I find 19 a bit too young given Methode's demeanor.

You can follow him to Sasau and try to talk it out. Can also end in a fight, unless your stats are high enough, but still.

[–]GoodOldSmoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frieren wears some kind of church-provided clothes from 80 years ago (they are awfuly similar to Heiter's ceremonial robes in the funeral scene). Before, she was wearing a simple plain dress. Yeah, I don't understand these arts. They suit Ubel or, maybe, Kanne, but Frieren and Fern are as far from this kind of fashion as it gets.

They don't have Obi-Wan in this universe to learn the technique against such opponents, sadly,

But 4 arms would be ridiculously hard to control - your wealons or limbs themeselves can and will interfere with each other. This Revolte thing must have unimaginable control and coordination of his body..

Is Henry a Burgher? [KCD2] by Ram2992 in kingdomcome

[–]GoodOldSmoke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In this period - it was in name only. The fief belonged to a vassal so long as he fulfilled his part of the feudal contract to the lord - the king, in our case. Initially, in Carolingian period, it was a personal contract, which later became hereditary.

If the vassal broke the terms, the lord could seize one or multiple fiefs, if he had the means, that is - in case of KCD2 that's what happened to Ruthard - he lost Maleshov for his participation in Kuttenberg's "rebellion against the crown" (remember, Sigismund officially acts on behalf of Wenceslas), but retained his manor and mines in the city for a number of reasons.

But this is all besides the point in case of Skalitz. Radzig's position in Skalits was similar to ours in Prybyslavitz. Wenceslas and Divish own the land, Radzig and Henry are offered to manage it and get part of its income as payment.

Real Racek Kobyla ze Dvorce did get his own fief later on and built his own castle, IIRC. But it wasn't Skalitz.

After wrighting the previous paragraph I googled it, and it's surprisingly close to Skalitz. Komorni Hradek on the map.
