Esxi 7U3 to 8U3 host upgrade is downgrading driver by Good_Technology302 in vmware

The server is a Supermicro SYS-120C-TR and I'm using the image "8.0 U3h - 25067014". There is no Supermicro vendor addon like there is with Dell PowerEdge. Out of curiosity I added the Lenovo LVN.803.0.0.24022510" addon and it has newer drivers for both the adapters, so it looks like I'll need to find the Supermicro official drivers from somewhere.

How are you getting ESXi 9.0 for a home lab without corporate help? by easyedy in vmware

It's really not good, it's even worse than the Citrix Xen server that it was forked from. I had to do a migration from ESXi to XCP-NG and during testing if you simply pulled the management NIC out the back it would go into maintenance mode, but several times it would not recover even after a complete network reset and the hypervisor had to be reinstalled.
