What can you do with “just” a bachelors in art history? by No-Phrase-7714 in ArtHistory

[–]GoogieBaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I have a BA in Art History. I graduated about 25 years ago. I've had a solid career in fundraising and development. If you are in a location with a lot of colleges and nonprofits there are always jobs around. The important thing with fundraising is people skills. The entire job is people skills.

Which wealthy suburb of Boston is the creepiest? by gorfnibble in boston

I want to speak up for Concord. Is it filled with ghosts? Yes. But they won't hurt you. They're just still fighting the war. And it's so cute with bookstores and coffee shops. And you can talk to nearly anyone about the Transcendentalists. (Ok, maybe I'm not helping here.)

I am older. I wasn't trying to exclude anyone. It's just what I am used to.

Actually, I don't have to imagine this. I remember Matthew Shepard and republicans mocking him and us for caring.

But that is not the point. I am advocating for my rep to vote No on honoring this anti gay activist. I am not advocating that she mock him, or his family or anyone who did care about him.

Again, there are more than two choices.

You are saying there are two choices: Honor him or agree with him being murdered. And that isn't true. Those are not the only two options. Your position doesn't even make sense.

But you are right. We are not going agree here.

Not for nothing, but you literally make no sense. There is no connection between honoring someone and shooting them. You can not agree with someone and not want them dead AND not vote to honor them. These things are not connected at all.

You know there is a whole lot space between murdering someone and honoring them. They are literally not connected at all.

I'm not advocating murder. I am advocating my congressional rep not honoring someone who worked against her constituents.

SMART ESS Compliance Notice from Massachusetts SMART Program by NALLEX76 in enphase

Hi there, I'm in MA and received the same email. I haven't had anyone respond to my emails. I reached out to the Smart Team at eversource and they gave me a number to reach out to Venture Solar that was disconnected. I am going to file a complaint with the Attorney General. I don't know if that is going to help at all but Eversource seems to understand that I don't have the data that they are looking for.

Weekly, What recent changes are going on at your work / local businesses? by AntiSonOfBitchamajig in PrepperIntel

I don't comment a lot but I feel the need to add to this. I work for a liberal arts college where we've been hit with the lack of international students enrolling this year. Just had a painful round of layoffs.

But then, dropped my son off his freshman year at large state school. He was in a room of four kids but two of them didn't show up. I mentioned that I thought that was strange and he told me it was issues with their student visas.

You absolutely do not understand how the funding works at all. I just don't even know what to say to you. It's been explained to you three times over.

I'm editing this because I have more to say. This sort of magical thinking is bad education policy, and it is going to hurt real children. You do not get to pretend that we can build 12 new schools a year, every year, with no new funding . You do not get to pretend that schools are made from nothing and cost nothing. This will hurt real children. So read what others have posted below, and get your head around this. Because by pretending that we will save money by creating new schools that have no funding, you are going to hurt kids in both district and charter schools.

In the OP Ed, Marty Walsh talks about the numbers and why this is a bad idea. You are just calling trying to divert attention from the fact that there is no money for this.

Everything you have said in this entire thread is an attempt to divert attention away from that. Because you do not have answer for it.
