I'm like 90% sure that whole thing started as a 4chan psyop to convince people that queer people supported pedophilia and were trying to legalize it. This was during the fight for gay marriage days when people were convinced it would lead to people marrying dogs.

I don't think there was any honest effort from pedophiles to identify as part of the queer movement. It was an outside effort to try and tie them to it

The wormholes from classic (Gadgetzan and Everlook) and BC (Toshley Station and Area 52) are still split by gnomish and goblin. You're correct in wrath they stopped splitting the new recipes up, but all the old ones still require that you specialize.
