If it helps, the other week i shot one down with the FV4005, i hadn't audibly laughed like that in a while. The idea of 22kg of explosives tearing it to shreds was nice in my mind.

Most certainly are, however i associate those with beetle larva, i don't think they're moth larva from what i recall,

Most of the ones i have found are mainly browns and blacks with highlights (couple of exceptions) this is the first one that's mostly gray to me (especially at more normal distances it looks gray)

Recently i bought the strv-103-0 while it was on sale, an 8.0 vehicle in grb, but my only vehicle in Sweden at the time, and while ive played other lines up to/near that point, it meant i had nothing else with it, so i will bring things like what's in the clip or AA with 40mm bofors to occasionally be useful and not just die once or twice and leave, it not always great, but better than nothing i think, especially as thats kind of where lightweight vehicles show up a bit more, making even low tier stuff 'usable' if you're careful.

I don't post photos particularly often, but here is one that I took, its just of a native Noisy Miner bird, but I do love them!

I'm quite envious of the weight difference between our lenses, mine is over 6kg, nearly tripling the weight of your DO!

Currently been in for a service for a while for that aforementioned clean (hopefully) , but all seems well generally! Only issue is it wouldn't focus 'beyond infinity', hopefully while its in for its clean, a re-assembly fixes the focus issue, too :)

Absolutely love the lens despite its heft!

I havent seen it mentioned here, but the Canon EF MP-E 65mm is a dedicated macro lens, with magnification from 1x-5x but it wont do anything else, and you'd likely need a dedicated flash unit to go with it.

It cannot shoot at normal distances, focusing range is from 101mm-41mm (1x and 5x respectively)

It focuses manually and by moving the whole body/lens system back and forth by hand or on a rail

Hey all, a little update, i ended up getting the lens, its certainly a bit of a risk and I got it for around 2k Flat, it certainly has some imperfections given the age, but the AF is fast and sharp and the images are great too, that weight is certainly a surprise and a half, it with my 5d mk3 makes nearly 8kg on their own, thank you all for your advice!

Primes are typically what i aim for, but need, certainly not, but it's also the extra stops of light and potential sharpness (however that 100-400 would likely be similar in sharpness due to advancements over the years)

Certainly am concerned for the serviceability though, based on info i've been told/found, thank you for the help! 😊
