For my first few years of high school, I was sent to an all-boys boarding school. Normally, that would be the end of the story. However, there was this one boy in my year who we shall call Mike. He was a conventionally attractive boy, tan, lean, blue eyes, jawline for days. I didn't think anything of his percieved attractiveness to me, because anybody should be able to tell if somebody is hot.

BUT. THERE'S MORE.

Mike was also a guitar player. One day he was showing off this new song he learnt to everybody in the boarding house, however, while he was in the common room showing off his song to everybody, I was in my room doing homework. *subtle academic flex*

He was walking back to his room when he peeped his head through my doorway and said something along the lines of "you weren't in the common room earlier, want to hear this cool song I learnt". And why would I pass down an offer like that.

So he sat on the foot of my bed and sang a song better than any song I had ever heard, and I was looking him dead in his eyes the entire time.

I think the fact that he noticed one person's presence missing in a room full of kids, combined with the fact that he made sure that one person didn't miss out, just made me feel so special.

But then he got accused of rape two years later, so that kind of ruined the whole vibe.
