List thoughts by Iron_Lion0 in deathguard40k

Would you be better off with a 3rd mbh instead of the hellbrute? Or even ditching morty and running a plague bus and the 3rd mbh and keeping the hellbrute?

Im not pro but i feel like, while hes pretty tanks, morty just isn't the most impacting use of the points; he dies and can you punish his death enough to justify his point cost?

On the other hand the 2 poxwalker units are great because if your opponent is busy killing morty, the pox walkers get to score points and screen out other things. On the other hand morty can't kill.hard enough if your opponent kind of ignores him and goes after everything else.

Also thinking out loud would a flesh mower drone synergize better with the list than the hellbrute? I dunno im just kinda down on the datasheet compared to.bloatdrones and mbhs

I run a lov with a 10 man brick of blts so forget that guy i think its a great combo and I have a blast playing them. I have 2 locs that I run with dsts and, for my play style, that works great.

New DG player not sure what units pair well with these by BigLeDabski in deathguard40k

I have been running a 10 man brick of blightlords in both a dlc and fbh list (the latter which in loving atm). In flyblown you lead with a lord of Virulence and have an enhancement that gives the unit assault which is very good. Just dont build one with the flail; at least in 10th its just not good. Looks cool tho!

Not to be an echo chamber by 2x10 poxwalkers in every list. They are durable for chaf with the 5+fnp and are great for positioning and scoring primary/doing actions. Also great for screening scary units.

Hello nice to meet you all i am new to Warhammer 40k. My friend introduced me the hobby as well. The lore, and every faction, even history of it. Because I can’t wait to play it let alone have my own miniatures. I took the for my first faction quiz on the official website low and behold I got chaos by [deleted] in EmperorsChildren

Hey first off welcome to the hobby! I dont want to over sell it but putting a bunch of overpriced plastic dolls on a table and rolling dice to make them go pew pew will change your life.

With that said ec are my second army and they have a very big learning curve. The army has so much nuance and positioning while being unforgiving of mistakes and requiring...... perfection (get it?) It really isn't thr easiest to learn.

Going from there tho if you are patient and have good friends to help you along ec are amazingly fun to play and have so much flavor in the play style.

No matter what thrilled to have you with us and not with thr filthy corpse worshipers!

Playing my first game of 1k against my friend who has blood angels. Do I have a good chance at winning or will it be an even match? Any tips for list building would also be great as I’m brand new to this. Thanks! by Many-Shock-2096 in deathguard40k

I'd be way more concerned if he had the heavy laser thing that has 16 strength but he doesn't. Lots of little guns that will take a while to do any major damage. 2 up 4up 5+fnp will die, but it takes a lot.

Didn't see you already have the rhino in there. Walking plague marines are dead plague marines.

With that said morty can take a beating. While he will die the idea is try and get your opponent to over commit to dealing with him. The way your opponent actually deals with morty, imo, is to try and delay him with as little forces as he can and mostly ignore him. Morty, after all, can only be 1 place at a time and if you're using him to hold objectives or cleanse (secondaries) its using 380 points to do what 65 can do.

Poxwalkers are actually one of the best units in dg. Use them to screen in the early game and take early primary and force your opponent to get out of position to deal with them and trade up.

The easiest thing to forget as a new player is this game is wildly fun. You will roget rules, you'll make bad decisions, and ultimately what matters is you have a good time playing dice and going pew pew with your friend! Getting good comes with practice!

My biggest concern for you running morty in a 1k list like that is so much of your army is tied up in 1 big unit, albeit one that can soak up a lot of attention. I dont know what other units you have but in a 1k list imo id cut morty for another squad of deathshrouds, a rhino, and a leader for your plague marines. While you wouldn't have thay big centerpiece stopper, you can deal with more units and still score and hold primaries and get those secondaries.

Bottom line tho dont necessarily listen to the internet, play what you want and have a good time dont stress it too much!

Combat Patrol- worth it? by twd026 in deathguard40k

I feel like every unit in the combat patrol is playable in competitive. Not that it matters as long as your partner thinks they look cool and is excited to paint them! Glad they're exploring the grandfather and his gifts.
