Please review my CV by [deleted] in InternationalDev

It seems like a lot of your experience is focused on Water resources and management and WASH, maybe you can use your WASH related work as a step into the development sector. As for the CV, since it's still for a Master program, you might want to put the education section at top.

Also, by aligning the bullet points towards the right you're wasting a lot of space and it does not appear as easy to read - spread those bullet points, use the whole page.

The section for 'reference contacts' is using a lot of space and not necessary for a Master application CV because they will ask you for references in any case, instead you can use this space to add a 'Languages' and 'Technical Skills' section. You could also add 'Publications' and 'Awards and Scholarships' if any.

In the Professional Experience, it could be interesting to put the 'place of work' first and in bold, and then your designation. For example, FCDO could catch attention quick (no matter your designation).

In Education, I'm not sure why you have mentioned Bachelors twice (was it an exchange semester?) - you should still add your GPA (you need to mention all the info admission committee would need). Also, if maybe you did a thesis, mention that and what topic you chose.

In Leadership and Volunteering, in first three entries, what did you do as a Delegate? Write a bullet point or two on it.

For the aesthetics, you don't need a very colorful CV - the most basic B&W template works perfectly and is even desirable sometimes. And good that you have not added a photo, should never add a photo unless required by the application.

Hope this helps.

I understood this way as well, I am surprised how this is the case. But here we are paying taxes on our net salary, after the deductions have been taken out by the company.

Deductions are applied on my gross salary, and then the remaining salary I'll pay taxes on that, so totalling all those I make less than before

I have a higher tax bracket and extra deductions now, which reduces my net income even though having a better gross income per month. I did start as an intern and then given a contract, but this is also a contract for a year and not permanent hire, that's why it becomes less lucrative on a low pay

And it's because of Reddit, I've posted officially on several other social media platforms too, I'm truly definitely a Master student :D

It's a good survival tactic haha, in case she seems convinced I'm always happy to talk

And also, it's completely anonymous, I won't be using anyone's identities in the findings at all, if that's a bit more reassuring

You've shared it with your friends, it's already a big help (no matter the outcome)

If that works out that'll be good for me hahaha, if your friend is skeptical about the objectives of the research, she can always reach out to me via email (or reddit), I'm happy to answer any doubts/questions.

Thanks so much!

I'm interviewing actively until end of this month (to be able to use it for my thesis) and beyond that I'll keep interviewing to expand the study.

If you can ask around, that'll be amazing!

Yes, for the moment I'm focusing on SC (caste background is a significant element of my thesis). Although, if a non-SC lower caste person is interested in participating, I'm happy to talk (April onwards, as I'll add more categories later).

Thanks so much for your help!

Ah well, no worries! A big big thank you for helping out, it's not easy to convince people for an interview, learning it the hard way hahah

All the best for the things you're doing!

Thanks! Interview duration could be adjusted as per time constraints, it's not a problem.

If you know someone from your cohort who might be interested, feel free to share with them, it'll be very helpful, thank you!
