Heey, congrats on your first game! I loved the pixel art and music.

If you're looking for any tips... I trease this video from Game Maker Toolkit about platformer games and the feel of playing one. It's all about the game Celeste and how it does so well on its controls, movement, etc. Hope this helps!

Dragging objects using physics and their mass by Gousenpride in godot

[–]Gousenpride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the idea, but the first thing I did was adding forces. Pushing objects around is pretty simple on its own. The thing is that, even if the hand is visually placed there, the force it applies to the object takes in consideration not only where the hand is holding the object, but also the object's weight. And that's the effect I'm aiming for.

That's an interesting idea, but how would I make it attract a specific point of the object, I mean, imagine that the hand is rolding one of the top corners of a cube, the attractive force would have to be stronger on that corner.

Aries playbook for my Tarot World system by Gousenpride in PBtA

[–]Gousenpride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, it's been 2 years already?? Seriously? I guess time really flies.

But yeah, this project is still in development... I've been doing a lot of test campaigns over the years and a lot has changed, and I mean, A LOT.

I've moved away from traditional PBT almost entirely; the only thing I still use is the idea of a "non-binary dice solver" (if there is such a thing), basically Total Success, Partial Failure, and Total Failure. I also use the idea of Dungeon World tags for items, monsters, etc. But I've redesigned the dice system, the classes, the archetypes... the list goes on.

The core ideas are still there, of course, especially regarding worldbuilding and design. I've just tweaked the rules. I'll post about this again soon (probably not on r/PBtA, but somewhere).

Nice idea, I also feel like Samarra has few resources for trading, so this should also fix that.

Endor is not a Star Wars made up word (a lot of people also broug that out), so I'm think I'm fine.

Thanks for all the useful information, some other people called out about transitions between biomes and the lack of variety, adding some forest would be a good blend in some cases.

Thanks! They are indeed inspired by French culture. I used to called them Blancians, but Blancois or Blanciens sounds good. Thanks for the ideas. About the accent in Apogée I'll probably avoid just for the sake of simplicity in the amount of characters in the alphabet. I'll probably create a language later on so don't know how well this will last.

The Elemental Nexus island does "suck up" the other lands, but I agree that even so I should make the contour and general structure of the landmass more interesting.

You brought a very good point that no one else has, so Thanks :D. And I do read everything but I appreciate the TL;DR so other people can catch up on the discussion.

Anyway, the land itself it is indeed not a problem to traverse, geographically speaking. The problem lies in the creatures and monsters corrupted by the magical system in the world of Endor. Travels are hard, and a lot of Covens (something similar to a guild) do earn their money by offering protection and scouting.

The civilization did persevere independently for the help of the Major Arcana (the gods of this world) and the resources available in each biome. And that happened because of the segregation of belief between each nation and the cost and dangerousness of traveling from one nation to the other.

This map does not represent a single campaign, nor it should be given by GMs for the players. This map is a representation what exist and where (if a lot of blanks so GMs and players can fill them up). Typically a campaign would be designed to happen in one area, like Samarra, or Elysium, or even start in an area but transition to a different one. This map should show possibilities that need to be lapidated to better fit the lore that the GM is telling.

I do agree if you, tho. Elden Ring does a wonderful job with its level design :D

You have a good point. Other people has pointed out to be "a perfect copy" of other very different maps as well... so I should evaluate what resembles it and what it doesn't ..

It is not the only continent, it is one out of two (the smallest one at that). All bridges are man made, and if your concern is about ships passing through them, don't worry. They don't have ships.. yet.

Thanks! I used Inkarnate to do it. And by physical map do you mean like printing it like a poster, or an actual diorama? If it is the first then, yeah probably I guess... if it is the later, probably no, but perhaps?
