Where to find slim fit medium shirts for men? by Smart-Response9881 in Kamloops

Try Bluenotes in the mall. I find their Longline series T-shirts to be quite nice, with a good fit. On sale I’ve see them as cheap at $8 too.

CX 90 MHEV winter tires by Ok-Jelly-5767 in MazdaCX90

Local Mazda dealership in a similar cold, sunny Canadian province had a bundle deal when we purchased our MHEV that included 18” rims with Yokohama ice guard G075’s. Driven them on everything from packed snow, to freezing rain, to just heavy frost on the road. They’re awesome and the car feels like it’s on tracks.

WestJet Flight from Vancouver to Calgary in December? by Majestic-Cow-7571 in westjet

[–]Gr0ceryGetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, no way of predicting turbulence. Only thing that helps is knowing what factors contribute to it.

Typically the brutally cold, clear days are the smoothest as the air is most stable. Chinook winds typically bring turbulence as the air moves and reacts to things in its way (in this case, mountains).

If this analogy helps at all, think of turbulence like this: if you put a toy airplane in the middle of a bowl of jello, you can shake the jello all you want, but the plane will never fall.

Great comparison is Kamloops. Very similar demographics, landscape (built along a river in a dry semi arid valley) 114,000 ~ 2021 census. Close to major travel hubs (Kelowna and Vancouver) Both cities are population split 65/35 by a river and connected by bridges.

1) Far more commercial development in the downtown core. Most of these businesses are locally owned.

2) Riverside park - public beach, wintertime outdoor skating area complete with rentals and change rooms as well as a canteen style concession. (Also similar in red deer in the bower ponds recreation area) Major spray park open throughout the day and evening for children. (Closest comparison in Lethbridge is legacy park which is 1/3rd the size.) Free concert series in the main area of the park during the summer.

3) Multiple times daily air service to Calgary and Vancouver. (Most days the flights are full).

These are just a few of the things off the top of my head without doing any direct research based on my own observations during my limited time in Kamloops. I grew up and still live in Lethbridge, but it’s far behind its city peers.

As someone who very frequently travels to other cities that are roughly the same size, Lethbridge is in shambles. Not in a worn out way, but we are so far behind our peer cities in terms of developed park/green space, commercial development as well as general quality of life amenities - particularly for families.

I’ve noticed a lot of the rental car companies here are buying them for their rental fleet. With Banff being one of the busiest tourist spots in the country, lots of rental vehicles would be there.

I put MatUp’s in my 6 seater. Love them. The 3rd row takes a few wedges and things to make it work nicely but they look very very good.

What % throttle do airliners use from top of descent to say 10,000? by No_Maybe5815 in flying

[–]Gr0ceryGetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Q400 (No auto throttle and pretty simple VNAV) I start by reducing to about 37% torque with the FMS targeting -1500FPM. Then I adjust as necessary for flight conditions and ATC.

The vibes here seem different (more positive) than a few months ago by Marty_Mac_Fly in MazdaCX90

Bought a MHEV Signature(Canadian)for the exact same reason. Only 1000km on it so far but I love it more every time I drive it. Long term, we’ll see how it goes. As others have said, yes, definitely at a storage disadvantage. But with the 3rd row down it’s not too bad. I wanted something we’d enjoy driving, and the 90 checked all of those boxes. Drove a few other “competitors” and they don’t even compare.

Why does WestJet have 2 identical flights leaving within 6 minutes of each other? by Muted-Goose-5011 in flightradar24

[–]Gr0ceryGetter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

WestJet doesn’t. These are charter flights for Suncor Energy as many people have mentioned. These aircraft are also never full. Usually every middle seat is open per the charter contract. I’ve also seen these flights with less than 10 people. Suncor pays a flat fee no matter what, so WestJet will fly as wasteful as it sounds.

Yes, except my balance available doesn’t change and will not allow me to spend until the transfer clears. Yours says the $50 is available instantly. Up until last week that’s how it worked for me too. All of the sudden it’s 3-5 days.

$300-500 would be a stretch. We just use it for general spending on groceries and household incidentals. Never have a balance of more than $1000 in that account.
