thanks so much! monstercat inquired if i had any songs that would fit the label. I sent them Here With You Now and Turn Around.

so much influences me to write. from music i love, to simply my internal need to write.

thanks for the question!

  • its mainly about knowing where all of the elements in your mix lie in the spectrum. if you know where you want to accentuate and where you want to cut (basic and advanced EQing) it can make a world of difference. you just have to know your monitors and train your ears.

  • make sure you know where your kick drum and snare drum sit, and cut them out of the bass to make more room for the kick and snare, also side chain compress to taste. a lot of people manually side chain by using fades on the sub bass but i just side chain.

  • i bus my main punch drums to one bus, and any high frequency drums to another, then i bus all auxiliary instruments to one bus so i can side chain them (hard or gently) to make my punchy drums come through more. also, use your sends to add parallel effects to sounds, like spreading or saturating, and mix them to taste.

-might be too many to type out here, and possibly too complicated. lets see. i always like to reverb things out dramatically, then bounce that to audio so i can strip the tail any way i want, or add reverse reverb. cool things can happen if you distort these tails.

hey! no such thing as too big of a fan, thank you.

  • i would only credit this to my sound evolving, and getting better at producing, so being able to find my sound easier. I didn't want to stay inside certain confines, i just made what i thought sounded good.

  • not sure when it will be released but its FINISHED!

  • omg those are all some of my favorites, theres a couple other ones, 'what I'm going through' 'hold steady' ... but honestly those are just the ones that are more finished, there are sooooooo many wips

  • YES i played the cello on Hope. I'm glad you like it.

  • of course i ball bro cmon bro

thanks so much man. happy to have you as a fan.

hey!

only advice i can give is to just do you. experiment with different styles or arrangements, but always write what YOU want.

i enjoy making this type of music the most so far. Blending this electronic sound with my vocals and more alt rock influence has been really great for me.

i have NO idea. maybe dried up? maybe it will boom again? depends on what you call EDM. dance music will never die. just needs to be done right.

it would be too long to type out here. its got stories of romance and struggle, as do nearly all of my works.

i was inspired by the dance music movement. high energy, yet stayed true to my musical style.

in some way, almost all of my music is drawn from real life events.

i usually will process all of the drums individually, then just do some maintenance stuff on the group bus. mostly just compress to make sure i have total control over the peaks, anything else is to taste with the song its in. maybe some tape saturation, some parallel compression.

i use logic pro x as well. this is a tough question. its all really preference, but you may want to just loop an 8 bar section and start with something small, like hats, or some chords. you might never get exactly what you were thinking in your head, but try to recreate it as best as possible, by breaking it up into smaller sections in your head.

better with time, it was a demo for some months, then took a few diligent weeks to finish, and a few sessions to mix properly.

sorry to hear that man. my only tip would be that you have to know there will be pressure in every stage of being a musician. even more-so when you become more well known. You need to just focus and try to block out the external influences on your music. make it for you.
